I Quit .. Day 1

64 months tobacco free. Smoked and chewed that shit.

Cold turkey was what worked for me, but I had to be resentful towards the stuff before I could quit. I just enjoyed it too much to really put the effort in.

One day I got a can of chew that just tore me up. Had in my mouth 5 minutes and it started burning. Took it out and next day I had 3 or 4 little bumps inside my cheek. Said fuck this shit, and tossed it all away. That was after being a daily user for almost 15 years. I smoked a pack every 2 weeks, but chewed 2-3 cans of Copenhagen A WEEK!!

I still have dreams about it. A lot at first, but a few months back I had the same recurring dream that I've had since I quit. I have a mouthful of chew, and I can't spit it out and I walk around spitting and choking on the stuff for the entire dream. Now it's just a reminder of why to stay the fuck away from it.

Good luck, just get angry at it, because it's hard to quit a best friend. And if you were like me, you'd turn the car around for a pack of smokes/chew faster than you would for a lot of other things.

I quit in November but still smoke maybe two or three a month. For me it was harder to break the habbit than an actual physical addiction. I tried the e-cigs which would give me a nicotine buzzbut it didnt satisfy that feeling you get from actually ssmoking something and that was what i actually wanted so i also started smoking trim and i think that helped. They say if you have a craving wait about three minutes and it should go away if you find something else to think about. The hardest part is when you are around other people who smoke but it will get easier with time and then one day you'll smell what a cig really smells like and realize they are actually kind of gross. Good luck, dont give up.

Still not smoking and my first day out. I resisted the urge to buy some before getting new tires and I said, NO, to myself. So, I'm waiting on my new tires and I plan on doing some grocery shopping and straight home....:-D I'm actually kind of proud of myself. Part of me is proud, the other part is pissed off at the strong part of me.....like the cartoons, an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.....hehe‼
Thank you for all of the encouragement. ♥

I'm proud of you my man. The urges might always be there especially after a meal or when you're at a bar drinking with friends. But it's really mind over matter. And reward yourself occasionally for doing good. It will keep you on course.

I had to stop for rolling papers and the only place that sells the rice papers beside my dispensaries is the CIG store so I stop, go in and the guy goes to the Marlboro section and I said, no, no cigs just rolling papers, I get two packages, told him I was no longer a smoker. He wished me good luck and I left. :-D

write down the amount you save every day by not smoking, then add it up at the end of the month
you'll prolly need a smoke too calm yourself down at that thought of all that cash you've wasted killing yourself

11 days.....I'm eating Good and Plenty.
I'm starting to not think about cigs as much. It is a good thing I'm very reclusive and haven't anything tempting too close by.
Ms. H....xx. Bobtokes, $55.00+ :-D

Keep it up! You can SO do this. Sativied brought up a good point: you will be able to taste food more. Get into healthy cooking and groove on all the tasty stuff. Peace.

Eat well. Have lots of shit that's gonna give you energy and keep you healthy and posibbly supplements could help for a bit. Smoothies are good.
Exercise lots thatl help flush and sweat it out a bit. Sounds like you've already got that sussed though.
Activities will help and try to do things that take you mind of smoking.
