I think I found the hermie...

So a couple of my plants got partially seeded. I have been trying to check everyday for male flowers (these are 30 days since the flip) and today I found these big claw-like sacks growing on one of the younger plants:

There are definitely calyxes with pistils too. So am I correct in thinking that this is a male sex organ? There are no clusters or anything yet.

looks to me like a swollen calyxes. Doesn't really look like a banana to me. Try to get a closer pic if you can

I'll see what I can do when I get home today. These things just popped up over night. I will be glad to get through this first grow just for the experience. Assuming they are swollen calyxes, shouldn't they have pistils soon?

I agree, they are not nanners. But are they male flowers? The calyxes on my other female plants never had a really pointy tip like these. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am learning more every day.

they probably should but keep in mind that all strains are different and have their own things that others don't.

That's the million dollar question....I THINK I have some seedy bud but being my first grow, a lot of things are not what I think they are....lol. Skill level 0 headed for level 1 if I make it through this grow...
So I guess my best course of action is to watch these things daily and see what happens. Hell, for all I know, my bud may not be seedy. It may just be swollen calyxes forming, BUT what concerned me is 30 days into the flip and some of the white hairs are turning red and receding. I know genetics plays a part in this and I know when you grow random bagseed you get what you get. Just makes it harder for a newb.

ahh, kk, gotcha, but as far as i can tell, what you have circled there are no male flowers, nanners, bananas, balls, stamen, or anything of the sort.. just look like big ass calyxes to most of us here, i'd say you're golden..
i know all about first grow jitters, over thinking everything, worrying about every small detail, we've all been there, done that, but my suggestion is ease up on yourself, you seem to be doing great, smoke it if you got it and chill out a bit.. i know it's easier said then done though.. :D

A couple of my pennies in the coffers; that plant is not mature enough for it to be the culprit anyway. If you have already found seeds, then the nanners chucked their pollen a while ago, and even if that plant was a hermie, it is too immature to be ready to chuck yet (imo)

That makes absolute sense to hear (read) someone else saying it. I may not even have seeds. I have looked and looked till my eyeballs have bled and can't find any open flowers. What happened is my buds started appearing all nice and white and fluffy, then one day I noticed the hairs had started turning red and there were what appeared to be calyxes, but I had never seen them before. I have take a few off and opened them and there was nothing but clear liquid in them. As a precaution I have been spraying down my plants and grow box with water everyday to keep pollen down IF it is loose in there.
I don't know what to look for as far as bud growth, so it's a guessing game to me. Without help from you guys, I would go nuts....
Here's what I am talking about when I say I think I may have seeds:

I am looking at the calyxes with no pistils. Is it common for the calyxes to swell so large without forming pistils first?

Another thing is that growth in the two oldest plants has seemed to kind of have stalled as these calyxes are showing up. I know I am over-thinking the shit out of this, right?

Hey man!! Im having the same issue/fear with a plant, which looks a lot like your supposed nanners. She had shown female preflowers but suffered from heat attack when temps went beyond the 40°C. So I put her outside to give her some wind and rain but I fear the stress has hermied her. Could I upload a photo her for you, me and others to compare them?

well, I found a hermie. one of the buds on one of my older two plants had nanners. Now that I have seen them, there is no mistaking them. I moved a branch aside and there was pollen all over the back of a bud and laying on the leaves below.
I cut the bud with the nanners off and hung it up, cleared out my cab and sprayed everything down with water. Wondering if the damage is done or if I should pull it. I will probably pull it in case it develops more, but I hate too bc this plant has the best buds. If this wasn't scrog, it would be easier to pull and check the plants.
