i think i have seeds in my plants

I don't freak out if there are one or two, or five or ten. But if there are tens of thousands, well, that makes me unhappy, because then I know that I've lost several ounces of bud to seeds *and* when I wanna smoke the seedy stuff, I'm gonna have to de-seed it, and I am one lazy mofo. ;)

Why freak out over seeds ?,they do not effect the quality of the smoke in any way.

I thought that once pollinated, the plant focus attention on making seeds and slows down resin production.

(but I think I have a male and been trying for a son for making seeds)

My heavily-seeded pot was absolutely terrible, but that was from a hermie. Haven't seeded a female yet of a strain that I routinely smoke, so I don't know if the quality is decreased there...but it wouldn't surprise me a bit. Even if the quality is the same, it's still worse, because inevitably you end up getting some seed husks in your smoke, degrading the quality and taste. My seedy pot was so bad I couldn't give it away, ended up making oil with it, and even the oil wasn't any good.

What im slowly finding out with some help from fdd is that this is not allways the case,it depends on how heavy the pollination was,a light pollination will produce seeds but new fresh bud growth will take over once the seeds are formed,im seeing that it does slow bud production for a moment but does not stop it & that bud production will come back to near normal levels .

It all depemds on how much pollen was taken in by the female.

Good to know! Thanks. I guess strain can play a big part of that too.

If its heavily seeded, think its best to harvest a little earlier?

Im not sure, this is my first real try at breeding & most of my info is from reading & picking fdd's brain, hopefully ive done everything right but i have faith in fdd's info more so than the hype i read about seeded plants.

I plan on doing 3 seperate harvest times from the same crop,if you'd like i can pm you any details about any differences is seed or bud quality after the harvest.

I can say one thing about the supposed lack of resin production due to seeds,so far i see no indicators that this is the case, the buds are allmost dripping in resin & the resin layer looks just as frosty as the other non seeded plants of the same strain, the bud size is a bit smaller with the seeded buds but there's still time left for them to catch up so we'll see in the end.

Yeah, if you wouldn't mind, keep me posted. I'm more interested in the whole breeding thing then anything else. (don't dig buying seeds too much)

Any bud I pollinate, I'm not too concerned with the quality of the smoke. (but damn straight I'll try it! :hump: )

I just got some mega-gro today. Suppose to have the gibberillic acid in it. Want to play with that for fem seeds.

While I am no FDD I do know that when a plant has to use energy to make seeds it has less to make flowers. I don't know about you I want my plants makein flowers not seeds.

So what was the point of that?

Ok but how does this apply to what bigbudballs & i are talking about, also the information im quoting is based on 2 side by side grows with one intentionally seeded & the other a complete sensi grow,im no expert at breeding either but i atleast wait until all the information has been gathered before i condem something as being a negative thing.

I want you to understand that i am not trying to argue but i am at a loss over your post, have you done direct comparisons in side by side grows with the same strain to come to this conclusion,if so please post the details so we may all learn from it,if not please do not state that you "know" something when its simply not been proven .

Lol my ass fuck head,i get your point very clearly & took it exactly as you intended.

Whats wrong with giving credit to a person who takes time out of their day to help me learn, only a arrogant asshole would pass off information given to them by others as their own.

Step up to the plate & teach some members here something from your book of wisdom, then you might get an honorable mention instead of ridicule,or continue on with one liner posts that show your philosophy about things.

Lol.

I was not necessarily speaking solely of weed, ALL plants when producing seeds have less energy to produce the flowers. Its the way it is, I was no commenting about your posts I was posting a fact I learned from a basic botany class a few years back.

Does this energy loss affect thc over the entire plant I do not know NOR did I comment on this point.

I stated a seperate fact.
