Loc, remember , bud weight isnt necessarily going to come from the size of the plant, but rather how well the light you have penetrates the plant, my only tried and true way to fatten up buds is side lighting. as for myself, im looking and leaning towards this unit:

I feel like, aside from monetary issues, (why this bitch gotta cost me $250 USD?
) its the safest route to go if I want to have a stable environment for my ladies. Id rather build it myself but i cant seem to find a good, cool running, multi-lighted CFl ballast. All the HID-heads have their bright lights and big bills, I dont have/want that so i use CFL, plus soil and cfl and personal grows just sound like some hand-in hand type shit. now, if you know of any good diy ballasts that I could actually modify and use for my own selfish gain, id gladly +rep ya for em. Maybe a little poly film inside and out for the inevitable light leak. amazon.com man, shits got EVERYTHING! and with a valid school acct, free 2 day shipping for a year!
I like your cab: simple, diy, effective. My opinion? drop them lights down to about 1-3" (inches) above them. and I vegged for sixteen (16) days, seeing about 7 inches height before i went to flower. now id say im sitting at about 14" for the tallest and about 9" for the smallest.
This is about two weeks worth of missed pictures showing the final three in the cab with the addition of the two RAGGEDY-ASS, first-time,way too small clones i took from two of the three.
i just hope they root. also the indica dominant plant was the plant i was talking about in an earlier post about the black tips, the new growth, before flowering began was black tipped plant growth, me not knowing what i was looking at did some research, and after careful observation, found no solid answer so i chopped the new growth, well i guess i chopped a little too far because I accidentally (kindabutnotreally) topped her, creating two colas. Now she is about 3-4 days behind the other two because of it, but i was planning on flowering for 8-11 weeks anyway, so she'll have plenty of time to recover. and the clones? well i cut and re rooted them properly according to SeeMore Buds' outline, but one was with a leaf that was already going, and the other was a the beginnings of a bud site i couldn't have used anyway, but i think i cut enough genetic material that I'll be able to have a rootable sample. Here's hoping anyway,
