Hello every1, i just have a quick question. I have all the supplies i need now, i am gonna grow in soil, but i just got my ph tester in the mail today and i just found out i also need to buy calibration and storage solution =(. I already have some distilled water, and i just found out that it is always 7.0, so can i just not worry about lowering the ph and always use distilled water? i am using fox farm ocean forest

oh and i will be using the trio pack of FF nut's , does that effect the ph lvl?

nutrients change the ph of your water.
unless you are watering with pure tap water, you will need to adjust the ph.

calibration/storage solution will run you about another $10.
just buy it..
do you have ph up and down too..?

i would try and keep it around 5.8 - 6.5 but yes putting the nutes in should drop the ph. what size light you gonna be using?

man i bet the water from your sink is fine. buying and hauling distilled water sucks. i use my tap water having no idea ph it was and its been fine. pH is a big deal but less so in soil. if you have water already though might as well just wait until you figure out the ph. check online i think it will list your areas water data.

well i took out my new ph tester right out of the box, stuck it in some tap water, and it finally stopped on 7.2 lol, im kinda worried now cause i dont think i was suppose to use the tester before soaking it in some storage solution ? ? ? idk anything about those things, but ive heard 6.8 is good for soil grow, and i figure 7.0 is close enogh?
