I Think My Son Is Messing Up

I thought he was going by Trichomes on harvesting but he is going by the hairs on the Buds and cutting when he is seeing Brown Hairs.

I don't have anything to focus on them. My wife says Jewlers Loup is out of my price range.

Suggestions?

This is my present grow he is saying 3 weeks maybe.

Wait until the hairs pull back into the flowers. Don't look at trichromes.

Depending on the strain I go off both, but primarily I want the flower to be ripe so I wouldn’t chop early if those hairs hadn’t receded, but some strains will continue to push out white hairs well after the trichomes have clouded, so you have gotta find some sort of middle ground

Many of us don't bother looking at the trichomes. That doesn't mean that as soon as you start seeing the pistils turn brown that it is time to harvest though. They start turning weeks before the plant is ready.

Checked the girls today and they needed water. Took half again as much.

Just realized that this water is going to the Buds. Looked them over. At least another month. OK when is Christmas?

Just wait for the heads to go about 20-25% orange (or abit more if you like it like that). Looks like you only have a very tiny amount yet. Majority seem cloudy. But you should be able to get a decent idea from close ups on your pictures.

What sort of effect are you hoping for? "Up active" high or "couchlock"? If you're looking for the first then probably around another week/wk 1/2, couchlock then 2 - 2 1/2. The trich's will tell you. The more amber, the more sleepy stone imho.
