I wanna start to grow

Hey everybody whats up? So i decided i want to try to grow a couple plants. I have a closet in my room that is 4x2x7 and i wanted to grow like two plants. The closet has no ventilation so i think that might be a problem but i dont have to worry about the smell too much. I would like to know what kind of light i should use and what kind of crop i should grow to get the best potency and yield. Also it is going to be winter soon if that matters at all and i also want to be safe to not start any fires. Thanks alot guys any help would be appreciated. oh and i also dont want to spend too much money at this maybe like a hundred at the most.

Sounds like you're going to want to use cfls. You could go with a bunch of 23w and keep them really close to the plants. Or get a larger cfl, Im using a 250 watt cfl and it makes great bud. As far as strain goes, I think you should go with bagseed as this sounds to be your first grow. get some experience on the bagseed plants, and as you get better order some dank seeds. imo.:peace:

CFL's would be your best bet to start with, if you have a smaller budget. Plus no reason to buy more expensive HID lights before you see if growing is for you. With CFL's and two plants in that closet, I wouldn't think ventillation would be a problem. I agree, bagseed would be the way to go for your first grow - work out your noob mistakes on cheap seeds before spending cash for the good stuff.
Good luck!:peace:

The HPS/MH cool tube I have linked is £45 shipped dont you think that is suitable?
Suitable for growing yes, but not so much if his budget is only $100 - I don't have that money symbol on my keyboard but that price would be around $90 USD correct? Most of his budget blown there, without any other supplies.:peace:

Thanks alot guys i will try the cfls and get some bag seed but how many lights should i get and what wattage?
lol Now there's a harder question! CFL's come in so many wattages it isn't even funny. Well, I would say about 4 26w CFL's per plant for vegging, more for flowering - adjust as needed for different watts. You'll want 6500K for vegging your plant/s , and 2700K for flowering. Here's an example of the CFL vegging racks I made. Each of these cost me around $80 - but I have a dozen CFL's on each one, meant for 3 plants each in a three gallon bucket. A smaller one with less lights will cost less.:peace:

Do you mean a smaller bucket with less lights will cost less? I'm trying to keep my first purchase as cheap as possible.

Aren't there any lighting configurations that only need one wattage? I didn't realize there were so many lights that you needed just for a few plants.

Or is this something that only advanced growers need to know?

:-?

thats a pretty sweet setup doeyed so do you think if i made one of those racks it would be good from sprout to harvest all i would have to do is change the bulbs when flowering and put an osilating fan in there with a thremometer and mylar the walls

I think you could, might have to add a couple CFL's lower down on the plant though, for your lower buds. I use a 400w HPS to flower, so it's kinda hard to answer. As for your walls - I use cheap emergency blankets from Wal-Mart, $2.88 in the camping section. Some people say they create hot spots on your plants - but if that's true, I have yet to see it, however I have noticed a difference in growth useing them verses white walls. A fan is a good idea even now - help those young stems grow strong. Just don't aim it right on them.Lastly you can grab a combination thermometer/hygrometer (measures humidity) at Lowes or Home Depot, for around three bucks. I would advise getting that, also, as soon as you can.:peace:

what is the difference between bag seed and dank seed? and what is cfl and what does to the plant? if you can, please help me dissolvingthis doubts ;)

peace bro.

I spent 45 dollars on my entire setup I went down to the local home depot pcked up 4 23watt 5500k cfls and 4 23 watt 2700k cfls then I got two Y adaptors and I got two heatlamps and put two lights in each heat lamp and saved the 2700k bulbs for flowering then I went to the timers picked up. A 1000 watt digital outdoor timer then went to radioshack to get a portable gfi outlet.
Here's an estimate of all the prices
4. 23 watt cfls 5500k 4.50
4. 23 watt cfls 2700k 4.50
digital outdoor timer 17.00
2 heatlamps. 22.50
2 Y adaptors 5.00
so like 50 some odd bucks and a complete setup or atleast a great start of a complete setup

Bagseed is your normal everyday commercial bud, like 20/40 shit,ya know. Dank is what you get from a seed bank. Cfls are compact flourescent lights, just google it or go to the cfl forum to learn everything there is to know :peace:
