I want a Mother!

My question is I have 7 Plants that I will be flowering soon If I get a decent amount of females I would like to make one a mother and keep it in veg. My problem is I have to flower to see sex then I will know which one if any Im going to use as a mother. How does this work once it shows sex and I determine a mother do I just simply place it back into the 18/6? Or put it under 24hr for a bit to get to go back to veg?

what I do is take a 2-3 clones from each plant number them all so you know which came from which plant and then you flower the big one's
when they show sex you go and kill the males in flower and the clones that came from that plant

Okay so the best way is to take some clones from each plant then use the clone as a mother? remember I would like a mother plant although thats an interesting idea.

Plants usually show pre flowers when they reach about 2 - 2 1/2 months of age from seed. You can identify females by their preflowers during your 18/6 veg state when she reaches sexual maturity. She should show two white hairs coming out at each node if she's female.
