HI KOLE,

LOTs f books are available... Ed ROsethal has the BIG BOOK of BUDs series.. you can learn strains from him... the master

Yo do have to be careful.. there are lots of new breeders tat are claiming strains. and naming them.. when in actuality, their strains are nearly identical to strains..
cheers existing

I found a good list somewhere and saved it to my harddrive. Give me a while and I might be able to find it, link for you. Nope, I just c&p'd the whole damned list, and now I can't remember what site I found it on. I'm sorry, that was not at all helpful.

I'm a complete newb but think a lot of this strain madness is all just marketing and serves to obfuscate the true origins of a strain.

I understand it, they spend a lot of money to get people to vote for their strain, their strain wins, now people want to buy their seeds. Marketing, I get it, it's just that it seems to detract from the actual art of growing.

I do believe the top breeders put out better plants, they just have listened to the marketing guys because those guys make them a lot of money.

Good luck....

EDIT: I also think today's strains are pretty much irrelavent today. The only ones worth knowing IMO are the base strains like Columbian Gold, Thai, Afghani, etc and some old hybrids like Northern Lights, Haze, Skunk, AK-47, White Widow, etc.
