So it's been a while, and I don't have any good pictures off hand, but here's a couple things...Dunno if I ever posted after my first coral order, but I have some pics here now. And I have my second coral order coming Thursday! I'm stoked!!!!

Just for reference, this is what the trumpet looked like when it first went into the tank, and you can see from the pic above that it has grow quite a bit!!!

What tank is that? Double filter double lights? I'm kind of digging it. Usually I'm only into 'natural' looking setups but that reminds me of an underwater candy store display :)

It's actually my frag/quarantine tank...It's just my 2 stock Picotope filters and lights, since my Picotopes are under a 36" T-5 and hooked to a sump...The tank itself is a half dome terrarium from Petco I bought on clearance for 12 bucks that I re-siliconed for reassurance. The shelves are PVC and Eggcrate...eggcrate is just light diffuser in the fluorescent section of home depot. The frag plugs fit right into the square openings.

Believe me, I'm into natural setups as well, this is just for observation for like 4-6 weeks while I set up a new tank and start cycling it. I fully intend to take them off the plugs and glue them to my live rock when the new tank has gone through it's ammonia spike. But yeah, it does look like some sort of retail display...lol...the shelves are to control the amount of light different corals recieve, based on their requirements. I just got them 2 days ago.

damn you must buy a shit ton of coral! i wish i had enough money to make my tank sick
Haha...what can I say, I'm addicted. Actually, believe it or not, all the corals in that frag tank cost 130 bucks shipped...19 pieces, so less than 10 bucks a frag, and I got some sweet Acans and a couple nice Blastos...not to mention those sick ass Ricordea mushrooms too! Hit me up if you want the website, the do free shipping on orders over 125 bucks.

Actually, the entire cost of that frag tank for me, including coral, was under 160 bucks. Considering I already had the HOB filters, the lights, the salt for saltwater, and the heater, all I had to buy were the tank($12), the eggcrate($13 for a 2'x4' sheet, I have PLENTY left over for future projects), and the coral($130.50)

Great thread and posts. Really have inspired me to start up a saltwater tank again.. This is my first 20 gal saltwater, pretty fun experience but the water changes were a real pain in the ass lol... My channel also has some other misc. freshwater videos if you are interested, all old tanks though. All I have now is a 75 with my wonderful oscar

Yeah, I just got inspired by the idea of growing coral, and once I started to buy pieces I realized pretty quickly that I was hooked...Not terribly interested in fish at the moment, but when I upgrade to my 36 gallon bowfrot(currently freshwater), I'll think about adding a couple reef-safe fishies. Nice video, too! Fatty frogspawn!

Here's my trumpet that started as one head with two mouths back in december...this thing is growing fast!

Three of my tanks were booted to the cold garage after our last move - blew my mind how much you can spend heating and lighting tanks. Summer's not too bad but in the winter the electric bill goes through the fucking roof due to them.

Well I moved my Tilapia from my small office tank to the bigger living room tank. But then the office tank was barren. So I bought some Sunburst Platys and a new Betta.
