I don't know whose laws those are in your post, but I can have up to 4 plants and only get a misdemeanor cultivation charge. I can have up to 8 ozs. of weed and it's only a misdemeanor posession charge in Kentucky. If you have scales or have it in separate bags than they can charge you with trafficking instead of posession but the penalty is the exact same for either 1st time conviction. I know of other states that have much stricter punishments for these same things. Every state is different in this aspect in the US.

laws are different in almost every state ,my buddy really didn't get in to much trouble some probation and fines no jail time he had 12 plants,simple fact of the matter is if your legal or not don't tell anyone.feds don't give a shit about state laws think you guys figured this out by now though.And to be honest posting your legal grower on here and what state makes it pretty easy to find you. almost 25 yrs i've been growing and not one incident but i also know to keep my mouth shut!And when your peps ask you where you got that kind bud just say a guy i know.;-)

And of course additionally, there is the potential of Tax Stamp assessment, which has not been used much, but the legislature occasionally wants to start using. See, if you don't buy the stamps for your grow (and who would, being it's illegal), growers could also face a 'Penalty for Non-Payment' totaling $175 an oz.

Tax Rate$3.50/gram if owner possesses 42.5 grams or more
Penalty for Nonpayment (Civil and Criminal )200% of tax and up to $10k or 6 yrs prison or both

At a certain point this thread should be moved to the law forum lol. The guy with MS didn't deserve 5 years in jail, but growing 17 plants just for himself? I'm kind of skeptical. These laws are so retarded, I'm surprised any judge can sentence these people with a straight face.

It's particularly weird, because CT is a med state (pending the gov's signature). It will take several years to develop the commercial growers envisioned by CT law. So folks will be able to get a perscription and posess. BUT if they grow one or two plants, they can face 7 years felony and a shit load of fines.

To circle this back to the OP-- I think there are lots of growers and potential growers from my state who lurk here but are scared to speak up, because they may be caught. I just hope they're learning and will give a shot at growing. CT is woefully underrepresented IMO -- Hear me you nervous Connecticutioners? GROW! It's fun and healthy! And Speak up in these forums!

He could have been growing 17 for a myriad of reasons. Multiple strains, small size, inventory stock, etc...
None of that info was permitted at the trial. Nor was his self medicating defense. He was railroaded into a conviction.

The state is ruled by monsters bent on profit from pain, misery and death.

Nah cops really can't do alot on this site because its to much to look into and on top of that where would they get a warrant. Can't get one based off of pictures online they could be from anywhere, not much to worry about and on top of that I think they are after the big fish not the little salmons

that's a benefit that i never realized how much i truly enjoyed until you said it. i mean it's obvious that it's healthily safer to grow your own organic meds than to buy something potentially laced with something to make it seem more potent or something, but it's not so obvious that it's actually probably more likely for someone who smokes and doesn't grow to get arrested than it is for someone who grows their own and smokes it in private
