Ice cream cones........

Hey what's up peps....just passing along a little tip I learned from an old school grower who is just amazed by autoflowers and grows them better than anyone I've seen....keep in mind this guy got 50+ years of growing experience.......ok so everyone know how autos don't like to be transplanted and if ya don't know listen now. Most people just start the autos in the pot they will finish in me included but this is a cool little trick that works pretty good you can fill an ice cream cone up with your soil or coco the cone will get soft from being wet and the roots will grow right through it.....it sounds fucked but I tried it and it actually works good.....I like it cause I can fit them in cloning try wirh humidity dome ......

It doesn't mold after a while?

Yeah, I'd be worried about mold too.

I'm using bio degradable pots for this reason.

I just bought some el cheapo ones yesterday from a discount store, but currently am using brand name ones too.

My only concern is the roots still feeling root bound. They go soggy and soft soon enough, especially when placed in soil, but yeah I've never side by side tested to see it doesn't slow things down any.

Dude has dementia. Come on now ice cream cones? WTF Save the cones for ice cream. You can transplant all kinds of ways without disturbing the roots. You can recycle all kinds of things.

Ice cream cones are too expensive.

Ah yes I forgot about newspaper pots. That's the true old school technique.

Soil plugs are good too, but I'd prefer if they were a little larger just in case the tap root or what not gets too big before I'm ready to plonk it in a pot.

As for cutting out of a plastic cup, that's kinda fiddly. Do-able, but fiddly. Risks roots breaking if the soil clump shifts or when the roots anchor onto the holes or any edges they can find in the cup, then tear as you try to take it away.

Rapid root plugs and you have no need for transplanting or cones
