First connotation means to invoke an idea of a word other than its literal meaning. To disqualify is to remove due to an infringement. It is literally negative. There are no negative connotations . You are giving the word disqualify a positive connotation
If you're going to use big words. Use them right and know what they mean. Then you insult people even if you don't mean to when you use those words incorrectly.
