I've heard from some fellow coop growers that you can put ice in your pots as you water them and over night and it turns the buds purple?
Is this true? I understand that colder temps turn them purple but this is too interesting and I'm experimenting on a Master Kush plant starting tonight.

sounds interesting. id say try it w one and let us know. i think ya may just end up w cold plants. wouldnt maintaining how wet the soil is be more difficult w ice? ya dont want it too wet

i wouldnt do it it be murder for your root system

i guess i should say i wouldnt do it unless you were close to harvest anyways

I am close to harvest.. about a week away... also.. I was wondering if regular ice DOES in fact work.. would dry ice be better... because it's CO2 content would elevate the content of the room?

high c02 levels at the end will lower thc potency, all ur doing with the ice is getting the plant sick. so if your going to do something like that do it a few days before chopping. most of the time the leaves turn purple not the bud. if you want purple bud grow purple wreck

actually i have a purple trainwreck plant that is NOT turning purple
thats why i ask
i want some purple buds :(

this plant = indestructable
i topped it 5 times already
it's been ripped and bent and fucked with alot
still producing crazy ass huge dense thc covered buds
im not worried about its health
stalk is like 2 inches thick..

just do it and tell us how she turned out

Ice in a resevoir can be good because the minor temperature shift is usually a good thing since its tough to keep a res below 70°F.. As far as ice on soil goes, well that could be overkill.. The shift will be MUCH more drastic.. You'll reduce uptake, and really weaken the plant.. lilmafia313 had a grow a while back where a couple plants got screwed over by temperatures being too low at root level.. Not a pretty sight..

Makes no sence to fuck with her at this point. I've heard It can be done in hydro set up but not soil. I put ice in my res to keep temps down but hasn't made my Ww purple. My purple Kush is purple but that's genetics. U should just grow some bomb and forget about turning her purple ur just gonna fuck her up.

yes... after seeing everones reactions i scrapped the idea.. you all know alot more then me... i just thought it would be a cool idea.

I ice my plants down when I start my 3 days of dark b4 harvest. I see substantial resin formation/production this was.
