Clones make seeds so much more valuable! I mainline everything, i.e. everything gets topped 3 times, 1 top turns into 2 colas, 2 turns into 4, and topping those during third topping nets me with 8 colas instead of 1 main cola. After 8, returns are not worth the extra veg time. It takes my veg from about 3-4 weeks upwards to 6 but according to others greatly increases my yield per plant. Same neuts and flower time, so why not...and who doesn't like new free plants!

Each time I top, that cutting is my clone. I use rockwool, which needs to be soaked in RO water before using to bring the pH down to usable range for clones. I hear the petemoss pods work great but have yet to try them or see how they will work in my dwc setup.

Using a clean xacto/razer blade to cut the tops with, I immediately have a shot glass of water to place them in. This prevents air from traveling upwards since we just cut it off from it's supply. It will die supposedly if an air bubble finds its way in. Then after a couple seconds, I take it out and with the blade, lightly shave the stalk area near where the cut is, maybe third to a half of an inch. This allows the growth hormone to better penetrate and take effect. If on a knuckle, lightly score it a few times. After shaving, I then dunk it in the water to rewet before dunking this into the hormones. It will be covered and caked. We do not care lol. Place in your rockwool and it may take upwards of two weeks before it starts to grow at all. As long as it doesn't completely die, we again don't care. Take extras and pick your strongest. I have one that I was sure was dead but refused to completely wilt and die. I think I lost one or two this grow but when I topped my original first clone, I had new clones again. The one that refused to grow finally showed me tap root coming from the bottom of the netpod this week. So I know it was just setting up roots first. That's about it. Clones like it moist but not soaking and high RH. I use a see through plastic donut case I salvaged from the kids breakfast like a mini green house until I set up my hydro clone bucket once they show root. It's hard to check if they are rooting until they push through the netpods clay pellets otherwise. Go to your local H.depot and look in the garden section for this root stuff. It's literally $4 usd. Compared to the $30+ for the cannabis specific stuff which uses the same active ingredients.

Ok so what’s your opinion on these I cut these about a month ago, I’m not ready to call it quits but I know I messed up I should of took way better care and more time to them 22724D56-32A1-49DC-B666-5EE5F536015F.jpegF1FC9B34-936F-483D-A890-FE0F6F5566CF.jpeg

I do not think they are too far gone. If you see any green, there is hope. You should have seen those clones before I removed half of the dead leaves lol. I did do so once I knew it was actually growing as not to stress the plant. Of course, it took well over a month as well, but stayed green and I kept it around. I am going to say these girls here are crying for some nutrients. Most likely Nitrogen and Phosphorus. I don't know the soil setup very well but make sure your Ph is right, for soil I think its somewhere in the range of 6.5 - 7.5. Out of those ranges and the plant literally cannot take in certain nutrients. I use something like the infographic attached below to help reading the plants. I would probably flush your soil or feed straight water for one feeding to help with any built up salts, if you havent already then go ahead and send these over to a new thread here on the forums asking for advice/help. The soil guys will be able to get exact info from you about these girls and then give you pretty detailed info on setting em straight or if its indeed too late. I will say it will slow them down temporarily but once you get them what they are begging for... they will grow new leaves and those are your key to telling how your doing. Expect 3 toed leaves due to stress. Kinda cool but you know its just stress. With the infographic, Its in 3 categories of nutrients from left to right. Normally always the primary 3 but occasionally things happen lol. It can also be a combination of multiple combined, Which leads me to believe the N + P is in a deficiency state. Clones can struggle to uptake nutrients until they establish a root system and eat their leaves to sustain themselves. I'm not sure how common that is during flowering yet, still learning that one for my own sake. I would try to keep your soil moist but not damp because you don't want your clones to get too dry. Stuff you prob already know lol.

Well actually I think you just solved my problem I know for sure there’s some kinda root system growing but I got slow release fertilizer with ro water I should of known better I’m gonna do a foliar spray like twice maybe three times a week and see what happens because I haven’t been paying close attention all month but I do see the world tiniest single blade leaves and 3 blade leaves that I don’t think were there when I cut them off the mother

Added the 2 largest clones but we'll be focusing on the main two plants. Here they all are together.

I also learned that when topping off my water that it should be with 1/4 strength nutrient water due to the plants drinking more water than nutrients. This makes sense to me and I expect better results here on out.

Looking good how tall is that Tangie she can barley fit in the picture
I have 7ft ceiling 4x8 tent. I could only take the light up so high. She is every bit of 6 ft as she stand now. I had to super crop the tops over to keep them far enough away from the light. They don't seem to mind. I had to support the one branch that never knuckled up but small problems to have overall lol

Oct 30 - end of 8 weeks of flower.
I am a week out from where normal harvest happens. I was horrified to find my blue Dream laying on its side tonight. She got too heavy and just tipped. Tops are busted up. Wired some back up. Thinking I may just do a early harvest. I do have amber trichomes just not as many as I normally would like to see. I do a slow dry over 2 weeks... So maybe I'll be fine either way.

Happy Halloween and Anniversary to Mrs.icedrg027.

So this is the end of this grow. I am now starting a 10-14 day slow dry. Then a dry trim and at least 2 week cure if I can keep the Mrs out of it lol. I'll update with final harvest numbers in a few weeks.

My normal dry tent is also used for a veg tent for my clones. Since they are taking longer than usual I needed to improvise. Utility closet with built in exhaust fans will do the trick I think. Nice and dark with good air movement.

I decided after checking it closely, that it did have amber trichomes and also all of its pistils were heavy orange/red. No white left to be seen. With it being a sativa, I do not want it to go to long or it will lose its benefits. So its done. They will continue to mature while drying anyway. It actually was the 2nd plant added to the utility closet photos. The closet pics don't do the Tangie any justice but it did get a solo pic before chop where you can see how big she is. I'll post more pics soon during trim.

Post dry update. We are in full clean mode of these BD buds. We took a couple small buds off to check for dryness and found a couple seeds hiding. I instantly recalled those calyxs that had flowered on the Tangie in its first weeks of flower. Instantly starting reading about hermaphrodites. My Tangie grew male flowers alongside it's regular female flowers... And possibly crossed my Blue dream. Making those seeds Tangie Dream. I have seen much seedier stuff in the past so I am leaning towards that. There is a possibility it's blue dream but only found one male flower out of all 8 stalks. Possible but more likely that the Tangie, who had upwards of 20-30 male flowers that dropped early is the real daddy here. So the seeds should all be feminized as well. I checked my clones who are just now starting to flower and found the same thing. I will be gently taking each one off in hopes of cutting seeds down to as few s possible with a full tent scrub in the near future.

Had some unforseen home repairs show up which slowed my trim process down. Here is the Blue dream. 4.5 ounces plus seeds that need to be gone through. Some buds were devestated by seeds others not so much.
