Idea for my grow room

I made mine from foam too. Works very well. Make sure to put some say 1" x 2"s for cross support so it stays square. Use glue too and liquid nails for foam.

Your concept is really good. Your veg side will work well with small ventilation.
When building your frame (as mentioned by Coho) install diagonal braces, or better yet put your reflective foam on the inside of the 2x2 frame, and sheet the outside in 1/4" ply (or thicker).
On your flower side I don't think two small exhaust fans will be enough for a 600W.
Quick point in ventilation; Its better to install an over sized exhaust fan and use a passive intake, with a circulating fan in the area, than expect good air flow through smaller intake and exhaust fan set-ups.
If you can, get at least a 4" inline fan, a 6 would be much better, and have it draw out of the box through your light hood, and discharge outside the box wherever if you're not concerned about odor. Make passive intakes down low where you have them on the back & or side.

Remember to be concerned about light leaks, while assembling (12hrs complete dark is very important). With sheeting on the back you can offset the penetrations on the ply & foam board to create a light trap.

Keep it simple and happy growing.

How much do you figure that is going to cost you in materials?
2" x 2" x 8' (20 strips) $51.00 - Home Depot price
7/16" x 4' x 8' (9) OSB Sheathing $88.83 - Home Depot price
Plus $30.00 in extras

Aprrox. $169.83 so I'll say $175.00 but i forgot to add the black and white flat paint

get some cross support over on each wall and it should be sturdy. I also recommend investing in some sand paper to soften the wood up :P.

Not really for the plants (any particles that come off wouldn't do much..wood is mostly organic polymers and cellulose), but because it looks much better and the life of the unit will last longer with sturdier softer wood!

great idea and best of luck

My dog was considering doing something like that to revamp his room. Currently it is just divided with sheets of half inch foam insulation (one slides to open). The damn walls of his house aren't exactly level, and the ceiling isn't perfectly flat or smooth which complicates things for the poor guy.

The foam insulation, Styrofoam or whatever kind of sheet-material he considered for building a higher-quality room were all quite expensive. For the size room my dog wants to build, it would probably cost in materials just around or a bit less than what a grow-tent would cost.

doing well will cost about the same as a cheap ass tent not a premium one. I think you'll end up with a better space as long as you don't need the portability.
