Identifying a good pheno

I was just wondering:
Strains like hogsbreath kush are said to be unstable and some of the companies that sell the seed say to grow out all the seeds that come to you and then select the best pheno.
How do you select the best pheno ?
won't they all look pretty much the same at the seedling stage ?
Also if the pollination source is the same shouldn't all seedlings carry the same qualities ?

it says"GROW OUT" meaning finish growing the plant, then pick the best pheno to make clones from.
seeds are like people, 2 parents, the kids have traits from both parents, but one kid might have more traits of his mother and another might have more of his fathers traits. same as weed

I assume you only finish to the point of switching the light cycle or do you include a light cycle switch in order to sex them and then switch the lights back in order to take cuttings

grow them till you can take a clone, label plants and clones, flower originals to sex.that's the fastest way

Allways clone every plant you have because sometimes looks can be decieving.Ive had phenos that looked good as hell but were not that good.You want to look for phenos that yield good and are the best smoke thats why you clone evrything,you dont have to worry about cutting the lights back and maybe causeing stress or even hermies in your plants.I think its fun trying to get a keeper.

I'm gonna grow 2 plants of 3 strains so 6 plants in total and im gonna try and find the best pheno of each strain. I'm planning on cloning them all after 2 weeks veg and keep those clones untill the rest of my plants finish and then i can see which pheno yielded best, kept the best height, gave the best high etc... After i clone the plants, i'm planning on letting the plants veg for another 1 weeks so that they repair and have a bit of growth then straight to flower. It should take around 8 weeks for them to flower so my clones will have around 6 weeks veg and straight to flower and it'll probs getting fucking jam packed in my tent lol
