Again, I want everyone to pay less in taxes. You celebrate that you pay less under Obama while demanding other people pay more and call me a hypocrite.

researchers at pepperdine have conducted double blind clinical studies showing that when someone proclaims they are winning a debate and insults their opponent, they are clearly winning.
here is what we have established during this debate:
1) you feel that it is perfectly fair and good policy for someone making $20 million to pay taxes at half the rate of someone making $50k.
2) you have no problem trying to confine the scope of the debate to either proportionality or raw numbers as it happens to best fit your needs.
that will sell in a general election.

Barak Obama wants to double the capital gains tax rate, put tariffs on foreign imports (which will raise prices), eliminate all subsidies for oil companies (which will raise prices), etc...
His whole speech was about raising taxes for fairness...

It is not the elimination of the subsidies that people will dislike. It is (what I put in parenthesis) the rise in cost of fuel due to the elimination of subsidies that will not be popular.
If gas is $5.00 per gallon in November - hypothetical - Obama will not benefit from it.

1) If that is the case that is how you encourage the market to search for more fuel efficient vehicles. Not by using the government to artificially hold prices down and spend ass loads of money on a technology that bureaucrats in Washington have zero understanding of.
2) Companies that are reporting record profits, especially to the amount that oil companies had, do not need any tax subsidies at all. You cannot morally justify it either. Especially when our government has a national debt of about $14 trillion
