It's funny the republicans want to take credit for the clinton years by saying the GOP had control of the house and senate and that is why we had a budget surplus. But then when Bush was president he had a republican house and senate for most of his 2 terms, it was the democrats who ran up the deficit the last two years. So which is it? Looks like to me once you have a republican president and a republican house and senate things go very bad, cause those same people that preach self reliance and monetary responsibility go on a spending hayday when they are in charge. Looks to me during the clinton years he had to keep a close eye on the republicans and make sure his middle out policies were implemented.
I don't get how people expect that we should be out of this recession in just 4 years. It's like having $100,000 that took you 10 years to save. If you were an idiot and took that money to vegas, gambled(which is what wallstreet did) it and lost it. You really think you are going to have that $100,000 back in four years? Things take time , but that is what is wrong today with our society. We expect things to be instant.
Could President Obama have done better? Yes. But, when the GOP's first words after President Obama was elected was they want to do all they can to make him a one term president. That doesn't really sound like the song of lets get along.
Romney is the biggest flip flopper. I don't get how he gets away with it when people call him out on it. He always has an excuse or spin. He is good at that, I will admit. I think the economy will rebound no matter who is in office. They say it takes about 8 years to recover from a recession. Plus europe is weighing us down too. These lobbyist, life long politician, super pacs, corporations are corroding washington. Our future is unclear and yet it isn't. If we go down the path we have been going down long before President Obama, we will be broke nation with high credit debt, low education, high healthcare cost and war cost.
