While my rebranded Chinese panel does seem to be a powerful grow light, the little things do bother me, like the shittiness of the mounting brackets. So I guess I'm officially eating crow here, PSUAGRO, I probably won't buy another one of those.

I've been looking at those BML that PetFlora is enthused about. Regarding custom spectra, I'll post my info/questions in the BML Review thread.

I'd go with a51 or apache over bml. An at200 is $750 and still cheaper than bml for the same coverage. Apache and a51 both have better warranties and already tried and true. Now if bml dropped their spyder light for $500 and gave a lifetime limited warranty then it would be a good light to consider. I'm not saying bml is a bad light. Its just there's better lights for cheaper

yes pet has been pushing bml like there's no tomorrow and he has only had the light for a week. It takes a few batches to get a true perspective of what a light can do (grower erros).. I think he is excited about having his first quality high end light. Remember when you got your first cell phone or pager (I'm that old) when you were young. How much you would flont it..... Same idea..

Hard to argue with that advice, but I am trying to fill a 10'x10' tent though, (4) 4'x4' tables or (6) 3'x3', etc... and the BML seems more affordable than Apache. (4) AT600 is like 9 grand, and I'm not crazy about the single white Cree thing Area51 is doing at the moment. Area51 had mentioned a White/Red flowering light coming out later this year, a while back.

With BML you can design your own spectrum, and the passive cooling will not attract my Peeping Tom neighbor to the tent. Believe me, I originally considered (4) AT600, and still could do that, but am looking for alternatives. Also I have a friend who could bring the BML gear from Texas so I don't have to risk more shipping damage.

I'm coming up with some pretty good spectra on the BMLs using 660 and some 625 red along with 6500k white, high PAR and efficiency with nice looking curves. But my ears are open to suggestions.

I had a pager and a walkie talkie sized cell phone too. lol

area 51 released the new red and white panel a few months ago.. the rw 150 and rw 75 . they are coming out with a large panel.. with GG's discount code you can get an apache at 6oo for $1999. If you bu 4 they might discount more . bml is $999 to cover a 3x3 thats $6000 . they will probably discount on a bulk order. you can go with 6 - 9 a51's for less at full price and you will definitely get a nice bulk discount on top of that.

Apache(at600) is $1999 for 685w= $2.92/watt
A51(rw150 is $465 when buy 8+units...so $1860 for 620w= $3/watt
BML(spyder600)is $999 for 333w...so $1998 for 666w = $3/watt

So unless the spider is going to yield 2X as many grams/watt as the AT or A51...they are all the same price for the watts you need.
I'm sure BML is good, but don't let price fool you. It's still only 333w. So it's not going to replace a 1000hps, and even 600hps will be a struggle if at all.
So if you like the spider I would suggest more than 333w(1 fixture) per 5x5 or 4x4. But in the end price will be the same as with one of the other top brands.

Yeah if I went with the Spydrs I would get 6 and put them over 3x3 tables. AT600 is listed at $2,400 and is still close to $2,200 with the 10% off Facebook thing. Where is the 2 grand hookup?

Cool, didn't know that, don't think it's on their website, or I missed it.

ever consider?
instead of spending 2000 bucks on one of these "professional" made lights..contacting one the forum members that has made a good working homemade LED set up and ask them to build one to your specs? at least the money goes to the people your getting help from..

I don't know which forum members have DIY setups, though that stardust sailor fellow is working on a nice one. I mean, if someone steps forth who has something awesome and can make a bunch of them fairly quickly without hassle, then sure I'd consider it.

I found the RW-150 on Area51 website, looks like those would work for sure. Apache = less panels to deal with though.

Got my choice narrowed down to four Area 51 150's or 190s. The 190s have more coverage, but the 150s are red dom (which I prefer). What does everyone but hyroot and Psu think?

It occurred to me that an RIU member recently finished a grow under a Spydr 600. Here area few of his comments. He also posted a review

Bricksquad 2625

My ladies stopped stretching after 1 week of flower, they have been under the spyder 600 for 1 week and have started to 'bud' up already, producing massive amounts of white hairs, for what I've seen for just a 2nd week of flower. I've been doing some reading, http://www.clemson.edu/hort/peach/pdfs/FaustHortScience2005.pdf , it appears that if you increase the moles, you can actually decrease the flowering time while increasing the yield of dried flower, or in our case, bud. Look at the salvia and petunia for comparison on what we grow. Interesting info, I want to email Nick from BML and see what he thinks.

I typically get 2-3 week of stretch, and doubling in height. Both these ladies only stretched 6" on average... I don't see them getting any taller

I used a Blackstar 500w for veg, didn't have enough cash to throw up for a veg spyder yet. I also like their natural sunlight bulbs, it can give you the same exact spectrum as the sun or as close as possible

Yes I will be doing a full taste/smoke report, I will also do a review of my BML LED light, I'm really satisfied with it.
Do these LED's work well with growing ive got 1 but using a 600w hps

It would be nice to see the all white mixed with the rw. I got the sgs and just ordered a Xgs should be here this week might throw both in a tent to flower for summer:)

What I've been doing both in my led tents and hot5 is to wait until buds set (assuming there is sufficient reds to initiates pistil development), then add more red (3000/2700) or in the case of my BML light bars, I also have some 660

LEDs are perfect for the summer! My tents around 70 day 55 night now in the spring, and I'm getting great color with some 160s. That really isn't a bad idea to mix pane

If I had the cash I'd start stretch with 190s, switch to the reds, then finish with 190s. Of course I could supplement the 190s with 660. So many options...catch a tiger buy its toe.
