that's a great looking COB but you may want to add some 630 and 660 NM lights to get a little more red in your spectrum. that COB only produces 14% red light
K thanks heaps man.

Cheers

Wow, I just spent the last two days reading through this thread. Here's my newbie impression of the thread:
Write down a lot of manufacturer names
Cross out a lot of manufacturer names
Why are mommy and daddy fighting?
Numbers numbers numbers
The same question on each page (Found this LED on www.ebay.com/blahblahblah.....)
Cross out more names
Pull the trigger on Hans panels
More fighting
More numbers
Everybody decides that white is better than red
Shwagbag appears
So... my question is, according to the current school of thought on red and pink versus white, is the Hans panel still a good idea or should I try to cancel that order and do something else? My area is a tent 18" x 36" x 60" and I'd ordered two Hans panels, hoping to use them for all stages from seed to harvest.
Try to use the thinnest amount and if they are multi chip arrays and not COBs use good heatsinks since they really really really need to be cool to work as well as they can.K thanks heaps man.
this thermal glue.. I can't find any information on it?! How much do I apply. Also I bought these cheap chinese heat sinks that are about 2cm thick with tiny brushless fans... Should I go get myself decent heatsinks before I permanently glue these bad ass cobs on shithouse heatsinks or what..? Its all coming together. Waiting on drivers
post some pictures soon..
Cheers
I'm interested in supplementing my 1500 Watts Gavita DE HPS and 600W 4000K Metal Halide HID spectrum. I'm working with 11'X5'X8.5' dimensions, eight plants growing via water culture. The plants don't require significantly increased light energy, but improved spectrum... Ideally I want more UV...
I'm not using C02, I have 700 CFM intake and 1000 CFM exhaust, also 350 CFM interior circulation of risen heat.
I recently purchased two 6400K CFL bulbs to hang vertically while the plants stretch. Are there any options for vertical fixtures? I've in the past hung a LED fixture upside down, thus assisting the development of lower flower development... If I purchased a Hans Panel or A51 I'd like to hang them vertical along the perimeter, I can't interfere with the Gavita/MH reflector light throw.
I'm seeking diversity for my current, predominantly HPS spectral output... I need to keep the Gavitas ~2-3 ft from the canopy, so ideally I need 10W chips for intensity @ higher height I think? I will power the Gavitas to 600W likely during maturation of the flowers to ensure ideal surface temperature for terpene expression/development... So preferably a unit with varying outputs...
Budget initially set around $600...
Thank You!
They are pretty close if you are using top quality cobs and reds. Based on how you drive each, white could be more efficient or red could be. White will hold up to temps better with it's efficiency though. What is more efficient, red or white warm?

ps. Thanks for the timely response, PSUAGRO.I purchased a panel, so you should be receiving your commission soon...

"Sorry, there are no uv chips that have the correct footprint to fit on the boards." (Bonsai Hero)
Unfortunate... I'll ask A51 next... My initial idea was to purchase 150W MH bulbs and ballast but I cannot project anymore heat directly onto the buds as I'm trying to achieve 75F surface temperature of the flowers.

You could get the same sized LED light, with 5W diodes, from Vipar on Ebay, for less than $300. Read through these threads more before you buy anything, otherwise, you're going to end up hating yourself for overpaying, or for buying a hunk of junk.I'm thinking of buying a 360 W LED from Growace.com for my first grow, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with their LEDs?
This the one I was planning on getting:
http://growace.com/grow-light/led-g...m-max-3w-chip-modular-led-grow-light-kit.html
Also, would this be enough light to grow 4 plants in a grow tent?
Btw, I just found this forum and I love it!
