Idk man. Was thinking of going with 4 A51 RW150's cuz idk if I want to wait until June. Do we know yet if it's early June or late?

Do you think my quantum badboy 4' 8 bulb t5ho will do as good of a job vegging? I never got a chance to use it cuz I quit growing for awhile so i haven't seen how t5's perform in veg.

Edit: I also like that the rw150 operating temp is 77-86f. Whereas the optics operate at 90-110
I have two rw150s and loved. Can't go wrong with those. I like the red and white switches. Veg n flower with same unit. The t5 will veg good.don't know when in June, but I am waiting for 400 watts of a51 new Vero units.I wanna see how a51 mounts there lenses?I would also like to see cooling louvers.on these cob cases. They do run little hotter than Rw. Not bad though.

I used a mars 900 for 18months. It drew 510 or so at the wall. I grew some pretty nice flowers with it in a 2x4 space. When it experienced a meltdown I replaced it with an optic vero 360. The plants are much more lively under the vero lights. I'm only about one month along with the optic lamp so I haven't got anything conclusive. Things are looking extremely promising.

Good luck
What u think about the lense mounting on these .

I am investing in a custom Chinese unit, a dimmable (it appears 10 steps) 300w (100x 3w).

I am requesting 430nm x 40, 660nm x 30 and white x30 because I know that'll boost lumens... however....

I have a specific question, and I know I am a n00b not checking led models and such....

The question is what spectrum of blue would you guys suggest as best for custom grow light use... I am taking the chinese on their values, and these models are newer.. here's a link

tell me what you think....

I don't really have the knowledge to comment on that. The first few days I ran the lights without the lenses observing the distribution and acclimatting the plants. Then I mounted the lenses and observed the distribution. It seemed to more effectively illuminate the canopy so there they remained.

I'm a frequent foliar feeder so the lenses are helpful. In my footprint of 2x4 with 12-16 inches space to canopy I think the lenses are useful.

Your thoughts?

I'd reconsider what you got going i started with marshydro led similar to that one you linked i would recommend Vero 29 with a computer heatsink and a lpf9042 driver I'm on my phone other wise I'd send links but anyways you'd be much happier for the same price

It is Osram's inaugural panel - it comes in 1x1' to 2x3' footprints - monochromatic, only Oslon SSL 80 451 and 660nm diodes - from 25-150W draw - the 3x2 puts up center par values exceeding 1100 umol/s. Here is a link to the spec sheet -

If you need any additional information I am happy to provide.
And what's the total output so we can get the idea whether that light is overpriced absurdly or just highly.
I guess that much cheaper Area51 would perform better than this.

Yes, I too consulted with Supra. He thought my lenses were 60°. I does look to be covering the space effectively. It's about 320 dissipated watts in 8 square ft space so I think I'm solid on par.

Yeah, good point I had difficulty locating them via search engine earlier. Useful thing to note though (google)

Since you are a good sport, I will share with you some of my wisdom.

Looks can be deceiving. The fixture you linked LOOKS legit but the parts inside of it, do not. When you buy a fixture, the first thing you should look for is brand name parts, as they are what you want to invest in. The fixture could look like a briefcase (like shit), but boast the best parts one can find on the market today, making it legit.

^Just because A51 needs a little competition (and a break)..... ;)

what got me about those cob led units i linked is the lens is 70 degrees, and the diagram notes 6000 lux at a meter, and 20,000 at 0.5m.

I hope that were true really however as noted.... I might ask them for some details
