IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Hey fellow rollitup citIzens. After many years of lurking this forum and many more, I'm finally in a position to start my own personal grow. So I'm just giving you guys my plan and I would be entertained to read some of your opinions and or advice. Thanks in advance.

Lighting willing be a CLW solar storm 220watt LED

Grow space will be a grown tent 2x2x4.5

I have a ipower inline fan and carbon filter combo both 6in

I will be doing one plant (SAGE feminized strain from BCbuds) in the grow, LST and topping to maximize space

Coco coir / perlite 50/50 mix in a 5 gallon Hempy style bucket. Will be hand washed
Nutes will be maxi bloom line with of course cal mag and molasses on the side.

I guess my only question is would I be able to fit my air filter outside the tent? It's a 6inch fan and filter combo I'm a 2x2x4.5 space

I'm considering added some supplemental uv or red led's to my new light. Is it necessary/beneficial and if so, what led/driver combo would be best?

Just a basic light is the way to go for your first light. I keep seeing people trying to complicate a first build. Just get one basic light build, then see if you feel the need to customize the next lights.

Hey guys I am currently running a 5x5 with a digilux 1000w MH/hps, a Truth M6 and 2 DS XTE 100's. I want to replace my current LED's with cobs. I have no tools so for now diy is not an option. I'm thinking about going with tasty, one in each corner. My question is how many watts is to much?

1000 watts should be near overkill in that tent. What are you pulling with just the 1000?

I did, I wanted to get some other opinions because I'm not 100% going with tasty because he has no stock and I'm in my first week of flower. Y'all think 600 watts of cob on top of the 1000 is to much?

Plenty of people use 1000w hps only in that area. You might consider replacing the street light instead.

HPS = 50+ watts per square foot.
COB's= 30 to 50 watts per square foot.

I'm not looking to replace my HPS, only looking for supplemental lighting. I'm currently at 57w per square foot last grow I was at 65w per square foot with no heat issues.

What are you pulling right now (grams per watt)? It sounds like you should just get a second tent.

What do you think of the 240w (for veg) and 500w (grow) Lighthouse Hydro BlackStars? Not that it matters, I got extremely lucky and while discussing my grow with a family member, they gave me this set for nothing. I saw relatively positive reviews on it. Curious if anyone's heard?

My last grow was 1000 in a 4x4 and I pulled just shy of 1.5 lbs.

I don't see how adding "flower power" to the light would be complicate things but ok...

i need a reccomnediton for cob led lamp for 2X2 200W will be great any recomnded companies ?
i plossible somthing i can buy in vegas

I want to run six CXB 3590CD 3500K on two Meanwell ELG150-C1400. Just wanted to confirm in will work before I put the money down and order.
I'm in germany so 230V for the ELG150-C1400 should be fine, and they will barely power 3 COBs each if my calculations are correct.

This company carries nice products that would be good for a Cob build. Found them searching for supplies. Hope this helps, there sheets and reflectors miro silver look good.

Need some help with what drivers I need. Going to run 12 cxa 2530's in one room and 8 in another. Trying to build it as budget friendly as possible.

Im going to build a diy cob fixture. Looking for 250w power draw to illuminate a 2.5ft x 2.5ft flowering space. Which is the better LED to choose for my needs? Cree cxb 3590 or cxb 3070? Would I be best using 4 or 5 of each? The plan is to mount them on a 40cm or 50cm square heatsink with remote mounted driver and be passively cooled. Will be using these style 60degree lenses,
partly for a tidy looking installation (im fussy like that) partly for function and hopefully to help protect the COB itself. What sort of distance from plants is required with these lights and what sort of spacing should I have between the LEDs to provide optimum even coverage for my grow space (square area 2.5ft x 2.5ft), bearing that I can select a square heatsink of either 40cm or 50cm a side if necessary to give me room for the spacing out. He, I'm thinking about trying out some LEDs or COBs but still not really sure where to begin. It doesn't really matter if it's diy or prebuilt. I currently have 2 1000s in a 4x8ft area. So I am looking at something that could do well in that kind of area. Any info would be great.
