THANKS DAWG! Crystal clear! I have a 3x3x6.5 flower tent w a 600w, a 2x4x5 veg tent w a 400 w hps...and a clone area on top of the veg tent w a 150w cfl. I do a perpetual grow and harvest 1 plant per week. Through trial and error I've become rather proficient at growing some sweet buds. I have barney's van kush, pineapple chuck, dinafem super silver, nirvana aurora n ak48...and Kannabia's faraona (which is the most beautiful plant ive ever grown...just harvested it today!!!!!). Nice but my electric is high and I battled heat issues all summer...which led to a spider mite issue i am currently managing. What a ballbuster. Dr Doom, Azamax...ugh!!!!Let Me Rephase Brother 2 In Your 3x3 Will Be Just Fine.Theirs Really No Need For Side Lighting.I Got 18 Inches Of Awsome Canopy Penetration.
I'm interested in germinating and starting clones with the rapid rooter plastic shoe box bin method. At first i was going to hang a cfl bulb, but since im saving watts with LED Panels everywhere else, I would like to use LED for the shoe box. Would anyone care to point me in the right direction as to a specific bulb or bulbs or tube? The box dims should be around 24" x 14" IIRC
Definitely TWO................many pros over one larger panel. In a 3x3 I could go w ONE bigger led instead of two area51 leds. But I have read that cross coverage is better. Ive read about lots of lamps...and from the comments here, their site and a few vids on youtube, area51 seem reputable.
10x10 with 3k budget is impossible with leds atm..............5k may cover your area with chinese panels.............which I don't recommendNeed assistance with LED setups.
Ideally Looking to setup a 10x10 tent with 4x1000 HPS equivilant LED panels. Budget 5k, would prefer to be in the 3k range though, but from what i've seen, i'm not sure if that's likely.
I would stay away from eshine^^^way better panels to spend your hard-earned money on .

Good Afternoon Brother Duke.Your 5ft Tall Tent Would Do Just Fine For Veg.Im Currently In Week 4 Of Veg And My Lady Including The WaterFarm And Light Height Is A Little Over 3 1/2 Foot From The Floor.THANKS DAWG! I figure if i replace the 600w with 2 area51, replace the 400w w 1 area51 and some side cfls for veg I will save in the long run w electric and eliminate the heat problems without losing yield. Sounds logical...we shall see. My concerns are the veg tent height (5ft) given the distance an led needs fro plant (around 18 inches) AND that it's a $1500 investment. It's so great to bounce my ideas off of other "hobbyists". lol
thanks to you and to all!!!
Brother VTMi'kmaq The Website's Price Is 535.00.However If You Or Anybody Else Contacts The Guys At Area-51 I Know They Will Give You A Better Deal. The Advanced Led Is A Ok Light But it Cant Compare To The Area-51.Just Remeber You Get What Ya Pay ForMaybe a couple hans panels instead? yeah I may just jump in with both feet fuck it. area 51 is sweet but 600 bills for one light, I can get two from these guys for same price.
I don't know what other people here would think about this, but the Inda-GRO Pro-420-PAR covers a 4' x 4' area, so 4 of those would cover an 8' x 8' area. The product description says it replaces a 1000 watt MH. 4 of those would add up to about $3200. Each consumes 420 watts.Need assistance with LED setups.

That's quite an investment considering the alternatives. Two 1,000 watt HID's on light movers would cover the same area for a fraction of the cost up front, and you know you're going to get grade A dank production. As cool as a large scale garden would be using LED's or even EFDL's its just not reasonable to spend that kind of cash to set it up.I don't know what other people here would think about this, but the Inda-GRO Pro-420-PAR covers a 4' x 4' area, so 4 of those would cover an 8' x 8' area. The Inda-GRO isn't an LED, but an Electrode-less Fluorescent Discharge Lamp (EFDL). It's cool, bright, 95% efficient and lasts longer than LEDs (10 year warranty!). Not at all like a normal fluorescent.
Now if you want to add the flower-enhancing pontoons to every light, that would raise the total cost to about $6,000. The pontoons attach to the light and contain LEDs to add reds at the right times of day. But if you plan to only use part of your tent for flowering, you won't need to add the expensive pontoons to every light. For example, if you only use half your tent for flowering, you only need 2 pontoons. That would make the total cost around $4600.
I've read good things about the Inda-GRO. Here's an article in Big Buds Magazine that gives it a good review:
http://bigbudsmag.com/grow/gear/article/inda-gro-induction-lighting-systems-september-2011
They can run CFL bulbs instead of induction too, or one of each, I believe. BTW, no affiliation here. I saw them mentioned in some YouTube comments while watching a video for another brand.Interesting design with the built in induction. Never seen those before but wouldn't mind seeing how the do
Yes, it's a lot more expensive up front for this system. The benefits over HIDs are that the induction lamps use less power (420 watts vs 1000 watts for MH), 95% of the light is in the PAR range, they run much cooler and they last much longer. The Inda-GRO lasts 100,000 hours vs about 12,000 hours for MH. So you'd go through 8 MH bulbs before the Inda-GRO would need replacing:That's quite an investment considering the alternatives.
