The company's that tell people to 'steer clear' of others that don't provide specs are the ones selling grow lights that are not competitively priced. I understand. Mars Hydro - 2 for $150. Hard to beat that and even I will admit it. Most home growers are looking for something cheap and $150 is nothing. The ones who are serious about growing often go for the best. This might be something that is very highly priced like BlackDog, Lumigrow or other premium product. Sure, not everyone agrees with their prices but they have been around a long time and are proven. Their higher costs reflect made in USA, higher overhead costs, and R&D. Doesn't necessarily mean it is the best product or best bang for your buck but hey, that's just the market. Unless the products are CSA approved or other, not really a big deal. Who cares if some American that gets paid $10/hr assembles a grow light fixture as opposed to people on some factory line in china that get paid that in a day. More or less the same product. You just pay for the extra cost and 'feel good' for supporting the US economy. But if your goal is to serve as many customers as possible, it is not helpful either because it means people using HPS are still going to use HPS because your sh*t costs too much to switch. So just buy something that works. If there is already a product on the market that works and yours isn't any better than why even bother?

I like to support companies that keep things simple and strive to make better products. I know for a fact that the company's I buy from are working on new products taking feedback from growers like myself into consideration.

If people prefer CREE chips over Epistar/Epiled then just request it and they'll make that for you so you can just buy it without having to deal with all the time consuming DIY.

"Stay clear drink the kool aid and buy the high priced grow light just because they spit technical jargon?" That doesn't sound right either. Put your light up against something I grow with and I guarantee I wouldn't be able to justify paying twice as much per light for the same results.

Look who advertises on this forum and read the last few months of posts. The lights you are considering are not the best. Most of the best lights use vero or Cree COBs. Best for your plant and efficient. Good to see you stopped here before falling for platinum hype. They copy products and even ads from a somewhat better company. All they have ever done is try to ride the coattails of Advanced LED, which is itself a second tier led supplier.

I also hate blurple!

Platinum is piss poor and they know it. Their business practices are unethical at best. Ripoff Bastards!

Hey guys. Have a question. I have 220/240 v at the wall here. Does that change which drivers I should be looking at?
I am on the fence about what to go with for the setup..but thinking about maybe the same setup as Airwalker? 4 CXB 3590 3500k with a
240-175b driver. Or maybe something similar. I wouldn't mind using 5 or 6 cobs either if it makes it more efficient. What do you guys think? Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

Also, any recommendations about a efficient 2 cob setup using CXB 3590s? Which drivers?

The drivers don't come with the wall plug, correct? I need to order those separately?

I have my flower tent (4xEight) set-up and I'm working on my veg tent. I originally was going to go 2x4 but that's a tight squeeze with mothers included so I'm thinking 4x4. How many watts will be needed to veg under Led? I'm planning on putting 3 or 4 mothers under their own T5 on inside of tent if needed.

Ok boys I need a little help spec'ing equipment for a cob cabinet build I'm putting together. The dimensions are 18" W x 32 L x 44 H. The cabinet will be used for a combination vegging and flowering. It is vented using a S&P TD 100X fan. I was thinking of using Vero 10's in the 3500 k spectrum in an active setup. I'd like to keep it simple and as cheap as possible DIY style using quality components such as a Meanwell HGL series dimmable driver, Heatsink USA heat sink and a quality stealth fan. I'm looking to have a nice even spread across the top of the canopy of a scrog setup, so I'm not apposed to using more Vero 10's to accomplish this. Your thoughts?

That's a good footprint for LED, it just comes down to personal preference of 3k, 3500, 4000, etc

You should be able to give yourself good coverage with 6 3070s at 700ma, I run 8 at 350ma in a slightly smaller footprint and overshot then intensity a bit (hlg c700a dimmed down)
