http://www.bonsaihero.com/index.php/ledgrow-led-panel-70-wHi guys, how are you ? I want to buy a LED panel for a 1x1x2 cabinet . I can spend 500 approximately . what dou you recommend?
@Big smo
do they pay your rent????
I mean its one thing to be stoked on your purchase but dude.......
and how are they not priced accordingly....how much do you think that say any of these company's on here make on markup from the expense of the components and labor ???? not very much
The diodes (XPE2) are colored to enhance spectrum. Spectrum matters BTW. It's also a well known fact that monos w/ lens emit a more intense light (one reason Amare has higher par readings). There's some mono benefits.If someone were selling Amare lights to the general public I would totally buy the bit about proprietary technology, research,development etc.......but selling those statements to people in "The Know" is rediculous.....the only research and development that has been done is marketing......they are just cree cobs/single diodes run on a constant currect......The same as every other cob brand.....whether it be Tasty/PLC/Amare..Cutter DIY/Johnson/Northern/Timber.......they all should literally run as effecient as each other......all running the same components......now we can be super technical and nit pick between 1400 and 1750 or 3070 to 3590.....but that is literally squeezing the last bit of juice from the orange........the only thing differ about the Amare is that they muddy the waters with single diodes and uv bar.....which arent necessary and until someone runs an extensive study butting their light to other cob lights and proves scientifically that Amare produces significantly better then any of the other COB company's......to me it is just a waste of money.....Mainstream company's like to keep most components a secret and transparency is usually not in there agenda....where home grown companys like the advertisers on this forum....who not only sell lights for there company but are more then willing to come on here and give advice and step by step instructions on how to build your own....potentially harming their own business in the process.....are the businesses that are gonna get my support to the fullest.......
there really is no reason to ride a company like Amare unless you have stock in it....they arent paying your mortage/rent
they arent putting food on your table.....actually...quite the opposite.....
Just a Thought
Sold me, sold others and many more to come. I'm vegging under them right now and the plants haven't looked happier. It was worth the extra money in my opinion.The diodes (XPE2) are colored to enhance spectrum. Spectrum matters BTW. It's also a well known fact that monos w/ lens emit a more intense light (one reason Amare has higher par readings). There's some mono benefits.
The 120 reflector combined w/ the 90• lens allows that same COB to produce approx 35% more intensity (another reason for higher par measurements).
I'd say those are some pretty big distinguishing factors, NO?

I was 8 watts off. My rent? Haven't paid rent since I was a child.
It's always something and I'm glad your adding your bs too Jorge, People are gonna hate no matter the situation. I suppose the handicapped will never understandMan if that's 168W of diodes it only leaves about 250W for those 6 cobs after losses

That's why I preach DIY lol @Hybridway and @Big smo Amare's lights are good lights but the price isn't and if I were to sell lights they'd be expensive as hell, they would be at least 61% efficient and passively cool thus the higher price due to material costs. But I like people to be resourceful and if you can build it, you can fix it. @Wisher2 it's about $700 to make a CXB3590 400w like I did and it's 56% efficient and I don't run any AC.@Hybridway
is there any third party data backing up the claim that this is important....
theory is just that theory....and with no data then it is just UC textbook material
COBS have been proven that is why they use them....but throwing some singles up there and calling it proprietary technology and all that....claiming that is does great things.....dude I ran hps for ever and my plants are always praying....literally not even at lights out do they droop
@Big smo
must be nice to have no bills and a disposable income ......but for your average citizen that has responsibilities.....spending $1200.00 on a light that I can get from a light paying 700.00 for well that extra 500 just dosent cut the musturd....and I am not talking the "special price you got" I am taking msrp.....
I am in no way trying to talk down about Amare.....just cant wrap my common sense around the advantage of paying that high of a price.....
It will stay 1400ma, but you will have the option to add that last cob down the road.hi guys i am just wondering about drivers, for example, a hlg-185-c1400, i know this driver is capable of handling up to four 36v cobs, but what would happen if i only chose to run 3 of these cobs on this driver, would the driver just run at 75% of power draw, since there is only 3 cobs, or will it redistubute the power to the other 3 cobs? im also wondering if the amps would change? , like would the 1400ma change into 1750-2100ma or somthing ? im pretty clueless here lol hope ths makes sense
okay thanks, =) does the 0-10v resistive dimmer, change the mAh current from 1400 down to 0? and wont make it go higher then 1400?It will stay 1400ma, but you will have the option to add that last cob down the road.
I am running over 550 watts with two led lights so im not sure if running 1 600W HPS would be better or not (For energy savings)? As for the heat problems i don't want them. I have never run HPS or MH but i am just seeing what his grow will produce. I am ordering a 8 bulb T5 setup with 6500K for veg and going to add 1 bulb for UV. I love the idea of being able to mix my spectrum with the T5 setup. I also like how i can mix the bulbs for different spectrum of light. It also can be a backup/test for future grows.@REALSTYLES
I completely agree with you 100%
That is what I was kinda eluding to....I dont fully understand the hype over brands when it comes to the same components and drive currents.....it's kinda like buying a car but my car is red so it goes faster then the green one.......just because the casing is differ dosent mean the light will outperform another of the same build...
I really like all the cob company's
from my perspective...I believe a company like Amare....is just playing into a Niche grower myth about UV and single color diodes....and marking up 500msrp on said technology.....
@Big smo
I was only commenting on the fact that you havnt had to pay rent/mortage since a child....must be nice
now as for unstable.......have you re-read any of your posts??
the only reason I am entertaining your grandiose, slightly delusional state....well is because I find it semi amusing.
Running HID for so many years....it would always strike me as odd at how intense people would get over what brand is better..."HAVE TO RUN EYE HORTI's BRO"......dude I ran effing $15.00 plantmax and killed it......because I am a skilled grower, not because my lights were amazing......as are alot of people are on these forums...running LED is really about efficiency.....to me spending extra money on single diodes are like the dudes that run supplemental CFL with there HPS......like they are innovative......
Amare fixtures.......didnt I read someone claim they put out the most photons to the canopy......or.......where is the data.....where is the 3rd party testing......come on....they have been out for a while.....didnt someone claim on this thread that they have been using 3590's since last summer....really....and they are just now talking about updating there website....man on every forum I am a member of.....anyone who is backing Amare.....has the shittyiest , most delusional arrogant attitude of any a person I have come across.....very bad reputation is building....
