i have hermies tooo........ ahhh. they suck!!! ya the first pic looks like a banana and the second pic looks like a sac, which would contain 4 bananas! what i did was started to flush as soon as i noticed the bananas so i could harvest early!!! you dont want to pick these off as there will be some sneaky ones. fuck the hermie, get it out of there, dont use seeds from hermies either!!! water cure the budsso the pollen doesnt pollinate your other plants. you will get a nice clear euphoric high from the premature buds, you'll like it! there no real way to tell when the first pollen starts to shed, so just chop and water cure!!! idk, just my opinions i hope i helped. ill keep checking in to see what you do!

well it depends on how hermie it is and how good your eyes are!!! if you miss one banana thats hidden good it might not be able to spread pollen because of its location, but it could potentially. the question is do you want to take the risk of pollinating your whole crop for this plant? it would be a different story if this was your only plant, if that was the case then i would say grow it to you hearts content. you could spray the plant down with water every hour or so, im sure that would help kill pollen!!!! lol, these are your two options.
1. chop it down now and have minimal risk of ruining your virgin ladies
2. grow it out and try and pick off the small ,hard to see, bananas that might be hiding behind buds and contaminate your goods plants. to what extent, idk.

ya they suck..... i have utter hate for hermies and femm seeds. well these femm seeds were from my own doing, so i cant speak about seed bank femm seeds. but mine were 100% female till they grew bananas:evil:

yeah man....

Well i think im kinda lucky cause these lil sacks grow at the top of each bud... i looked at all of em.. and they all had one.. so i picked em all off.. i looked at the plant real well and they dont grow ANYWEHERE else.. i think they just started growing as well....

because thier very small. the buds that dont get that much light dont have a trace of it growing...

I think ill keep her there and pick them fuckin pos's off...

thanks for the tips.. ill spray them down before the lights turn off. :)

i feel for you blondie!! just a couple more things.

the bananas will continue to come, they wont stop growing untill you harvest(i think anyways)

you might be sorry if you leave this freak and then all your different plants hairs start to turn brown and die..... then what do you do? do you keep growing your plants and harvest lots of seeds? or do you chop your whole garden down early to avoid the seeds.

just some food for thought.

ill tell you what, never again for me!!!!

no problem, im not trying to be a dink and tell you what to do. everyone on RIU has given me good advice, i appreciate it, and want to give back and help in any way i can to a fellow RIU'er.

im not saying that you would have as bad of an experience with your hermi, just the potential risks that your taking! good luck with whatever you do.

i dont know there must be different degree of hermies ,the pic in my arv hermied at 3 to 4 weeks im now week 8 ,during this time probably 5-10 pollen sacs released pollen every where but thus far theres no seed on top of the plant or cola but theres about 5 -10 in lower branches. My reaction is "sweet" now i dont have to piss around with clones ,im glad as  ...obviously my plant is a better hermie variety ,but for sure i can understand people being pissed if they get a hermie and you get seeds all over the place, this is my first grow so i havent had that ,but so far i wouldnt change a thing...

hmm my one plant displayed a similar trait but not so much of what it is you are showing the whole sac but rather the innards of what it is you are showing and then only on one branch. Contained within the pistils like your showing on the bud sites.

As to the color changes don't buy into that it scared the crap outta me until I did some further research :P

"The ratio of white pistils to red pistils determines the type of effects your plants are likely to produce: a high or stone. In the final few weeks of the flowering phase, the pistils change from bright white to a rusty orange or brown, signifying the end of the plants life cycle."

I am considering bagging the grow and starting over though since I grabbed some clones, I sincerely believe it was stress induced. But then I'm still not certain I'll get a plant loaded with seed. As soon as I can find some information to spot seeds I'll make a decision based upon input.

yessir those are some hermie parts but i suggest you dont kill the plant and twist or snip the male parts because it looks nice and fat.

I have a question on this topic too, I have a fully grown Jack Herer Fem being flushed and waiting for harvest however sitting right next to her is a young SKUNK/CHEESE CROSS, whos only just gone into budding but appears to have the odd pod here and there up the stem... hermy? will this effect my Jack herer who only has 7 days of flushing to go????? All responces welcomed - STELTHY

My plant started out male at the nodes and then turned female at the top cola and the top of each lower branch is showing pistils. I plucked off all the male parts at the nodes , these hermies are interesting. I was surprised that my plant started out male and then a week later showed more signs of female than male.

Bad luck about the hermi problem. I would let it grow out and try t stay on top of the pollen release situation.

Does anybody know how old a plant has to be to get pollinated? i.e. Would pollen turn a female vegging plant into a hermie? or a female plant early in flowering which has not shown its sex into a hermie? Any ideas??

You're all awesome x)

seeds take close to 6 weeks to develop fully. it really depends why you're growing in my opinion. if this is a personal crop, then it's all good, some pollinated pistils aren't going to be the end of the world. some premature seeds that crush with mere pressure aren't that bad either, they'll mostly loose their moisture during cure. from pollination to seed development is about 3 or 4 days. during those days the pistil will die back and if it's early in flower you'll notice it. if it's later in flower and your pistils are already dying back, then chances of pollination are slim. now figuring out why ur plant hermied is the bigger question to answer. pretty much every strain can be forced to push out bananas at the end of it's life cycle, but what caused yours...

I just had this happen to mine. It is my first indoor grow. I plucked some of the lower branches and she is done!!! Perfecto. The hermie is almost like the perfect sign of ripeness (to this inexperienced noob). Next time I will know better. Trichs are about 70% milky, 20% clear, 10% amber. Pulled and sampled some of the lower buds and she is really perfect! In as much as I thought she had another two weeks and had pawed through her looking for pollen sacs! I read about that HT article here and the ensuing discussion, I then realized I had taken her to the wall and actually was a week off on my date. Actually a superb mix of head and body! My first harvest commences, before the seed takes over! I actually had several sacs break. It seems like the shouldn't as they seemed really small, but they did. My first harvest commences. Hope your experience OP is similar.

edit: can tell I'm glazed, repeating myself in post... just had my first sampling, I'm very pleased!

another edit: I apologize for dredging up ancient posts... I thought it was current, I never know the date, it sounded approximately right.... skulking away now.
