ok....

not to long ago i bought a couple of 30w CFL's daylight..... after that i went on the internet to look to see if that company had bulbs in a higher wattage.... but i noticed their K for daylight was 5000.... no i didn't misread it people.... i went on numerous sites that sells their bulbs and it said the same thing.... their daylights were really 5000K.... so if you do use CFL's... and you cannot find the K on their package but it says daylight... double check on the internet... later

kinda sux but can be expected.... 5000k barely fits the in the daylight area. Wonder what the specs have to be for it to be labled daylight.... 5000k seems to be more top end bright white.

So, what are we saying here? Is a 4100K insufficient for growing? I thought having all of the spectrums would aid in growing. Maybe 6500's and 2700's are best, but does that make 3000k and 4100k worthless?

nah... think he's saying if he bought saomething that says daylight then it should be closer to 6000k-6500k otherwise its bright white... think thats gonna be my next task I put on myself Im gonna grow with bight white and soft white mix for my autos, see if that does any better.

i don't think they're worthless because i haven't bought the 6500k yet..i said to myself "fuck it, it says daylight, so its daylight" ha... plus i have 2700k's in there also since its recommended to have different spectrums... but i "think" its most important to have 2700k's and 6500k's plus other specs... i don't know... the damn things is growing so far though, ha... i'm still going to go out there and look for a "REAL" 6500k..ha, this is so messed up...

oh yeah, don't forget about lumens...those are also important

yeah...when it says daylight its suppose to be 6000k and up...different ranges, different specs, different names... but some companies are selling cfl's in ranges and specs lower than 6000k and calling them daylights... and NOT putting the Kelvin on the package... now we know why...

needhelp...Im already growin with 6500k and 2300k really IMHO if ur doin auto its not worth the mix ones closer to the blue get bushier and ones closer to the red get better bud... think about it red is the spec for flowering anyway blue is for veg and leaf development.

One thing I should add though is if u want better bud put a few lights horizontal toward the bottom or base of your stem and put a few lights at the top all red spec as soon as they start budding.

i'm not doing auto, just bagseeds....don't think i'll ever do anything besides bagseeds...

i have all the bulbs right on top of them... short height in grow space

them seem ok so far... but like i said... i'm gonna get those real 6500k's, damn companies tricked me...ha.. but the amount of red to blue in ratio is even...even though i read it should be 2 to 1 during veg
