If you were forced to harvest prematurely.....

Hey guys, first thread. If you absolutely had to harvest an outdoor grow prematurely for whatever reason be it frost or rippers, what would you do with the premature plant? Would you try to cure the buds in a long process? Make live resin (can you even) or would you do some tinctures like a butter or topical cream?

All depends on how far along, bubble or dry ice are a couple of things you can do to still get something of value, without smoking unflushed nug full of chlorophyll. It really comes down to how far in it is. Ive had a tree fall on a plang at 4 wks flower and i left it where it layed. Ive also had to up and move on short notice at like 6 weeks flower and still got some half decent dry ice keif.

Flushing has zero effect on chlorophyll. Curing is the process responsible for breaking down the chlorophyll. Pulling early will simply get you immature buds with clear undeveloped trichomes. The high might not be what you wanted either, since the buds will be lacking the full terpene profile

I wasnt reffering to flushing out chlorophyll, lol, more reffering to cutting a plant that still has nutes in the soil... But i agree id vote to not do it if you dont have to.

Let's say they end up at 7 weeks into a 10 week flower time, so they fall short by 3 weeks and the majority of heads are clear, will this still make good live resin? Could it be used for butter or creams? I'm guessing bubble hash would be out of the question.

Every process has the same goal, seperate resin (most found in trichomes) from plant material. I don't know why the bubble hash method wouldn't work. Take a small sample now, dry it and smoke it see how you like it.

Could it be used for butter YES you can get god butter from the crapest of weed i make good butter with my leaf and stems no bug at all
you can smoke the entire plants fully grow or not. the high will be lacking but will still get you high
dry the plant on the stem ill ripen allitle still but not by much

So you think even if it's 3 weeks early you could still cure and it would be worthwhile to smoke?

I was told bubble hash wouldn't be the best route since all you're doing is knocking the trichomes off the material and if they're clear and there isn't many it would be better to explore other options

That could be true, more green material you start with makes for a greener end product. You could try dry ice hash with bubble bags. I just dont think the immaturity of the bud has much of an effect on the effectiveness of the extraction method. Could be wrong, maybe clear trich's hold on to the leaf better.
