you should make an evap cooler very simple and effective plus people have used em for years and years heres some plans

Evaporative Cooler

instead of building it into your wall attach it to a box fan i had one for years and years only problem is the build up of salts so you gotta keep it a safe distance from your plants

what it looks like to me is your extracting heat from your ambient grow area and flushing it back into your room, your intake is just bringing in that warm air thus you cant win the temp battle b/w ambient air inside box and air outside that is supposed to be feeding the box fresh air. You need to exhaust the heat from your grow area into a wall space or attic space. Other then that I wouldnt know how to get rid of all the heat. just moving heated air around wont do it, you got to take it completly out of the environment and replace it with fresh cooler air. does your hood(reflector) have glass? I doesnt look like it does, Its really hard to keep temps reasonable with HPS lights when there reflector isnt air cooled. COOL that light and extract the air out of the room. Buy glass cover and vent that light if you can.

looking more closely at your reflector pic, I am not sure you can air cool it. here is a pic of my 2 hps reflectors, Note the hoods have been sealed at the edges to minimize air leak, and also note the couplings that allow me to connect the ducting to them rather easily. Here are 2 ways you would be able to correct your heat problem in my opinion. A.)being the easiest, and B.)being the more challenging and a bit more resource consuming. both of which are dependant on the fact that your reflector can be air cooled,if not I suggest if your going to grow with hps you need to buy an air cooled reflector. A.) use an inline exaust fan 4'' should do for you(170cfm) connect that to the wallspace/attic, using 4'' ducting and seal it, run that to the fan, then from the fan to your hood/reflector then out the other side to a SOK or carbon filter. thus you will draw the air from your room past your light/.hood and out through the fan into your wall space, since warm air rises it should find its way up an out. B.) you do everything above except instead of running the end ducting to a carbon filter you run it back into the wall/attic space(a separate hole will be needed) by doing this you use the air in the wall or from the attic to cool the light without ever effecting the ambient air in your actual grow room(will keep really cool) as long as you are bringing in fresh cool air, and using another separate exaust fan that will periodically replace the air in your grow area.(this exaust fan will need to have a carbon filter on it). Note B.) is a little more of a pain in the ass because you need atleast 2 fans, 2 meaning you can draw air out as a seperate exaust w/ a filter and just leave a passive hole for fresh air to be drawn through. Optimum i would use 3 separate fans 1 for the hood,2nd to bring in fresh air(calculate cfm needed by multiplying WxLxH of your grow area) that will be the cfm u need to bring fresh air in. 3rd fan will exaust the room with a scrubber or carbon filter 4'' sok is what i use.

try running lites at night. works great for 12-12,, just avoid running it during the hotest part of the day. also try using just exhaust fan to create a slight vacuum.
