I know i'm going to get a lot of bashing for this one, but I'm gonna throw it out there any ways.

I would rather grow a plant from BAG SEED then buy a ten pack of purple haze, or any other 'known strain'

For all of you who think that bag seed sucks and is difficult to grow etc. IN MY OPINION YOU ARE WRONG.

i have ONLY grown with bag seed and every plant I have grown has turned out to be the sickest headies! It is all in how the plant is taken care of.

a strain is a strain now doubt about it but.... why not just grow a suprise that can be equally good to your $40.00 bag of ten seeds.

yes you could argue that you know the potency level, the indica/sativa strain, the requirements and basic needs for the plant when you know exactly what you are growing but..... marijuana is a weed and a weed will grow whether you want it to or not in the right BASIC conditions.. food, water, light.

Idk i'm not an experienced 20 year weed grower veteran but... what i have grown has all come out MORE than asked for.

Plus when u grow bag seed ITS ALL A SUPRISE!... it's not like because u pull a seed from mid-grade u are gonna end up with mid-grade. u will end up with the same STRAIN as the middies ... just dank buds...

is marijuana really classified as a weed? i was wondering about that, i know poppies are considered weeds, atleast around me.

every bag seed plant I have had, has produced weed that wen given to a friend the first thing said is " is this 60 and 1/8 ?? "

when regular dank/dro/beaster is like $40 1/8 here.

"regs" "mids" ect. are usuaaly that way because they stored in bricks for weeks. compressing it and just making it shitty. ive never seen a seed called "dirt, ditch, reg, mid, downtown brown" so i wonder.

you are rigt in the sence of to get a nice plant regaurdless of seeds. its how much and what you do to your plant . the difrence of bag seeds and my 40.00 10 pack of feminized seeds i get all females out of those 10 seed. no worries about males.

this is why I dont grow unknown bagseed. I only grow seeds I fine in a very high quality grade, but as most you know. Its rare as fuck!

For me personally, Id rather pay the extra $ and know that Ill have good results instead of wonder if I will have decent results... I know I could grow decent bagseed and have it come out nice... but, Id rather grow Blue Moonshine or Da Purps or Warlock and know for sure it will be dank killer herbs.... I mean, there are so so many great strains to try that are available to everybody! why take a chance on some mystery when your spending all that time and resources already? Get some decent genetics! this is just my personal opinion and I am SURE you grow sick dank nugs out of bag seed..

I am telling you... this next coming grow season. take a bought seed that is some super crazy $10 per seed shit and grow it RIGHT NEXT to a FREE bag seed under the conditions of your store bought seed and see what happens... i bet you that you get different buds, that are equallly good to your nice expensive seed. AND you will be just as happy when u smoke them.


now I am going to also say I AM DEAD WRONG when some one is looking for a specific high, or a specific characteristic of bud they are WAY BETTER OFF going and buyin there seeds to a specific strain.

but plant for plant you wont be dissapointed w a bag seed.

if I grew a mex seed along one of my og kush seeds, it would be incomparable. I breed, so I take what I want from the gene, leave the rest. Working on Og Sour at the moment. Knowing the final product is much much better than a surprise. I would hate to waste 3 + months to get some shitty ass sativa from an unknown seed. I grow indica and indica only. Eventually your thoughts will change.

all but this next grow i have in 16 oz cups have been bag seed i personally want to see if the time and effort growers put into stabilizing traits over generations to give the best results on a constant basis a try,and for all that work 40. for me is worth a go...rob

exaclty and I will have to agree with MOST of you guys...... wen looking for a specific thing or with limmited resources, time, money, space etc. etc. you want to get the biggest bang for your buck/time.

I grow outdoors only and have never done an indoor grow so i can really vouch for that. outdoors is easier in this way that you can take all ur seeds from weeks of smoking mid grade and just plant them. U have a bunch of seeds and what doesnt work out doesnt work out but what does work out will be about equivalent to your bough seeds.

i don't know many people that didn't start with bag and never heard anyone say the bag was better then the grow do what works for you, if i go guerrilla its gong to be from the hundred or so bag seed i picked up in california.....good growing

well i have grown both and will say this . if i could afford it i would buy seeds to plant all the time just because the smoke was just that good. but i cant afford it and dont like pushing my luck ordering seeds on the net. so i grow bag seed most of the time .what i do grow is 100% better then i can buy . it taste better looks better and gets me higher then what the seeds came from so i cant complain to much .plus the seeds are free and i can plant as many as i want at on time without worrying about if im going to mess up 100$ worth for seeds .

A friend of mine asked me about growing and if he could grow bag seed.

My reply was this..

'If you only want to get high, sure grow bag seed weed. If you want to experience different varieties and become a connoisseur of Marijuana then you need to know and love the differences between each.'

I'm not arguing you. I'm sure you get good weed from bag seed, but it depends on what your purpose is.

I personally prefer to smoke good weed gotten from a home grower who appreciates each flavor and nuance of marijuana than something a dude on the street is slinging to make a buck.

It's like the difference between swisher sweets and a cuban cigar, both will give you a buzz but you will appreciate a top quality cigar over a 7-11 stogie.

I spent most of my 20 years growing bag seed. Of course you can turn anything into some decent smoke when you grow, dry, and cure it properly but there is just no comparing even the best bag seed I've ever grown to some of the top strains out today.

I feel regret looking back that I didn't invest in good seeds earlier. It only takes a couple good seeds to set you up with mothers and clones for life. It's a tiny tiny investment compared to anything else related to growing even if you shell out what most would consider a lot of money. Once you have gotten your hands on a really good strain and grown it out and seen how much better the quality is with trichomes just covering the whole thing, to where it looks like the plants are dripping THC, then you will see what you've been missing all this time with bagseed.

Nothing wrong with starting out on bagseed, especially if you can fire off a crop or two for free to learn on while you're waiting for good seeds you ordered but one run with the top genetics and you will never consider your current side of this argument again.

You don't need to buy seeds all the time. One good seed= one good mother and clones for life.
You'll spend hundreds or thousands of dollars over a lifetime just on electricity to grow. It's so worth it to spend a little on some good seeds at some point that's its funny anyone would argue or fight it so much. (But I did, and I do truly regret not going with good seeds from day one.)
