I’m a first time grower and I need a little help with lighting

Your going to be fighting heat issues, but big tent so should be ok, ld look for cheap light mover, cover whole area. Better than deal l got.
I got a in-line fan and carbon filter and a couple small fans I got the ac infinity t6 I think I got bad humidity it’s 40 something low and 90% high I have set the light or fan up yet though I’m hoping that’ll help im getting a dehumidifier anyways though probably

Used my inline to cool light, was still hot as hell in tent.
Damn idk then I’ll see if it’s a problem when everything is set up I’ll have everything done Saturday waiting on some stuff in the mail still

The main thing is you have cool air being sucked into the tent and carbon filter running through hood, you can control the heat. If not you will need ac but I needed ac for my LED as well. Do yourself a favor and ignore the dimmer feature on MH/HPS. Take a look at this chart to show what dimming those bulbs actually does. Also dimming a MH bulb can cause failure.

Do you ever lose alot of useable light. Glad thats not the case for leds. My hps cheap, no dim. But l guess better off without it.The main thing is you have cool air being sucked into the tent and carbon filter running through hood, you can control the heat. That 1000W HID will be bright AF compared to the blurple you returned but is going to kick out a lot of heat. Like sweating your ass off in the tent heat if you don’t have enough ventilation. Good that you went digital ballast at least, the old magnetic ones are tanks but kick out almost as much heat as the lamps. Lots of fantastic bud has been grown under HPS and MH lights for many, many years, it’s a fine choice as you get into growing on a budget.
Really suggest getting your whole system setup and running with the light on full power before you put plants in the tent. It’s way easier to fiddle with fans, ducts and AC with an empty tent as you get your setup dialed with temperature.
The bulbs that came with your light are fine to start but they will wear out (dim) over time and need periodic replacement. Read up on different bulbs as you progress through your first grow. Those Eye hortilux bulbs in the link are great but they cost alot.
Always have a spare bulb for emergency replacement too, even if it’s one you retired because it dimmed. Sometimes HID lamps fail catastrophically and there’s nothing worse than opening the tent to a barely flickering bulb.
Agree with @Doug Dawson above on not monkeying with dimming on the MH/HPS. LEDs dim much more reliably than HIDs.
Happy growing, learn alot with your first grow and keep good notes.

I’m a newbie also with two grows under my belt so far. Im growing 4 plants in a 2 x 4 ft closet. I went with two sets of 4-ft led T5 lights. They are full spectrum and each set has 4 x 60w each . Only used 6 which gives me 360w. Working out pretty good so far. They were only about C$120 per set which fits your budget also. Got them on Amazon. Good thing about LED is they run cooler than other type of lights which is a consideration when growing in a closet. Other advantage is you can place them only inches over plants and they don’t burn the leaves….thus giving me more vertical room. Just a thought to consider.
