That's a pretty nice fish tank, but that's those fishes home. If anything, i'm sure they would add joy to your life if you did get that setup..

Trout would need a chiller (or heater in winter), and a much much bigger tank (think large stock tanks, or corrugated culvert pipes ripped down the center), but I'm sure there are some kinds of fish you could keep in a smaller glass aquarium. Look at the aquaponics fish types chart to get an idea.

Like I said, it takes months to a year to get it going properly, and even then you might need to supplement the plants. Maybe you could create a diversion box, that allowed you to do feedings in the meantime, without adding nutes to the fish tanks..

If all the fish die you have to start all over too. You don't see many people doing it, but It sure would be cool. I wonder how big of tank/amount of fish you would need to support maybe 4 plants..

I have done some research into this already, my idea is too use tilapia selecting the "aquaponics grade" various 1.5 in length to bigger so babies and adults to keep fish aquarium in perportion, I can't find any research on the amount of plants is it just 1? Probably.

I was looking into building my own aquarium with plexiglass and rubberized flex seal or whatever the website was saying to use to diy because anything bigger is Hella crazy priced.

As for the taking a year to "cycle" I have already looked into Ammy and getting a kit for that to throw in the tank before the fish told ya I'm the type who's going to throughly research and look into things I have a real passion for this and my medicine not that toxic poison anymore, feels good to have a area I can focus and put my efforts into to keep me busy, between 6 plants flowering 1 rebounding and flowering in a week or 2


and 20 + clones I'm trying too root and 6 rooted I'm nursing I keep my self pretty happily occupied .... a fish tank eh nibbling on the toes you said lemme in (I know that was a joke)

Got aeroponic running, soil, hydro and now a aquaponics on the way #LetsGetit

You don't want a saltwater tank,

Guess I haven't done enough research then have I .... hot damn rhe guys out of town till Tuesday so it hasn't been purchased YET whats the difference I thought it would do the same thing hold water.... kinda just assumed salt was more corrosive and had a different sealant applied
