Hi Guys,

Happy to be here!
Just trying to setup a grow tent etc in my loft and have bought the Advanced Platinum LED P150

I bought this on the recommendation of http://www.growweedeasy.com/ but on a few forums ive been on they are saying i need at least 7 of these to light a tent that 1.2x1.2x2.0 (meters)
I assumed that i would only need this light and thats it!
I was gonna plant feminised OGKush seeds

So for that size tent is this led light a waste of time? and should i go to HPS?

Thanks for any help

I prefer H.I.D more than anything else. Try the LED section someone there will definitely have the input you seek. good luck

Ok. So.

You need to read more of grow weed easy. Their is all the info on hid there.

LED is not for you. Stay far away until hydro shop HPS manufactures are not outselling by ten fold led sales. Theirs a REASON.

HID is High intensity discharge like Metal Halide Or HPS.

This is what I would do.

your tent is 4x4 feet

You want a 600w HID

Vegetation you need Metal halide

Flowering you need HPS

You need to extract the hot air - 6 inch inline no less. And the right 400+ cfm carbon odor scrubber.

Think about if you want to cool your light with the air. If you do. I do not suggest venting through the scrubber. I make one system per unit.

As for nuttrients, I use jungle juice a and b. Its 6 bucks and yields a lb. Cool.

I do not use any supplements what so ever. NOTHING.

Your temperature and humidity is about as important as your ph and ppm.

You need to do a dry run with your tent and shit to see what the stable temp and RH is so you know its a good place for your babies.
Aim for 50% RH and 24 degrees c.

Do not use the hand test if its too hot. I use an IR thermometer. Its worth it. Buy one. If you do this right you can yield a lb.

LST but dont go too far, get used to how they grow.

KISS. Keep it simple. And add half the nutrients they ask for. Usually they are very strong.

Good luck. Thats about .01 % of how to grow

Yea I'd recommend a lot more research before you spend any more money. Hopefully you bought that light, or tent, from somewhere that you can return it for a refund because you are going to need either a much smaller tent or a lot more light(s).

Just so you know, Platinum ripped off the name of AdvancedLED -- a reputable LED light company. They even used the same product photos a year ago, confusing the marketplace to get customers. Recently, Platinum and a bunch of enthusiasts were banned from 420mag reportedly due to the abusive environment Platinum fostered.

They use epi-whatever diodes like the other inexpensive LED fixtures that have to be run at HPS-like watts. Given Name-Ripoff Platinum's damage to a respected LED company, lack of shame at acquiring an early marketshare... I would never buy from them. There are plenty of other low-quality diode lights out there.

P150 works, especially through veg, but it's missing a lot of red. My area is about 1/4 of yours (2x2.5') and I'm adding more light... it's more like 50w veg and 90w bloom. It isn't completely useless, but it is NOT an end-all-be-all light (as it seemingly advertises).

Is that in meters? cos your areas is much bigger than mine (1.2x1.2x2.0)

How many plants do you think the P150 would be suitable for, im thinking about 3 or something, like just for the vegetative state, then swap over to the 1000w HPS?

The apostrophe ' means feet, 24x30 inches, or about .6*.8 meters or so? I bet you could veg three or four plants for a few weeks, it depends how long you veg and what size buckets you use (physical space). I fit two plants in five gallon smart pots and that work well enough (I don't transplant). 9-14 inches directly above your plants is what I've found to be optimum light placement.

I believe that 3 plants would work as long as you don't veg for several months. Note, I'm only on my second grow, but my veg process went very well imo.
