Alright.....I'm doing this with hopes to get SOME bud produced by these plants. I don't expect anything great my first time. That is also why I'm using seeds that have come with a few bags I've bought.

I took a tuperware and lined the sides and bottom with a few sheets of paper towel. I wet the paper towel and placed about 20+ seeds inside just to get them germinating. I placed the cover on the tuperware and put a heating pad underneath it in my closet. (I still live with my parents)

Is this totally wrong? My dope-boy told me to try it out, so I am.

What soil do I use once they germinate?
What kinds of nutrients are good?
How long after they germinate should I place them in an actual pot?
I plan on growing outdoors in pots.
I live in the middle of fucking nowhere and I have an abandoned house next to mine where my friend and I stash all our shit and toke up there all the time. That is where I'm going to grow it.

Any feedback would be cool. I'll post pics later.

Thanx,
Laz

check out the FAQ section, you can get alot of info there. you really should have done lots of research before you started germinating. I'll let the outdoor guys fill you in on your questions, I don't really know.

since your not doing it with good genetics.. you never know what you will get. but since you are i would use cheaper stuff that will work pretty well.

use organic soil. fox farm is the best but if you cant get that, get the most expensive organic soil you can... try and never skimp on the soil.

i use jacks classics nutes...search your zipcode.. Jack's Classic Plant Food from J.R. Peters, Inc., Fertilizer Manufacturer - Jacks Classic otherwise.. try not to get nutes that last for like 4 months.. npk of near 10-30-10 for flower will be fine. most of my strains require little nutes during veg.. but the ones that do i use 20-20-20 npk ratio for veg.

wait until the root pops out of the seed about a 1/4 inch. then plant it. get 5 gal pots or larger if you are outdoors and have the space, and try to get some perlite and peat moss to mix in with your soil.. so it will drain better.

will the temps fall below 60 deg. F where you are? and yeah, i would read around the FAQ section a little, but hope that helps..

were coming out of winter and into spring.

Temperatures are reaching mid 80's outside.
If it is still dropping below 60, it won't for very long.
I live in FL, so I'm not too worried about temp.

Thanx 4 the help.

Be careful with that heating pad- there's a good chance it's too hot for germinating. The perfect germ temp is 78-80, and you never want it above 85. So check the temp of that heating pad (or just feel it and judge if you don't have a thermometer). If it feels pretty toasty, you may wanna put a few more layers between the pad and the tupperware. Other than that, keep the paper toil moist (NOT soaking wet) and you should be good to go. And it can take like 12 days, so don't get frustrated and give up!

Other than that, your job right now is to read read read. Soak up as much information as you can, and you'll be better off. The growFAQ on this site is good stuff, or if you're really devoted go out and buy a growing book (any large book store carries them in the gardening section). Good luck man

Alright guys.
Sorry about dissapearring for a month, but I work and go to college full time and I've been pretty fucking sick for the past 3 weeks. If it isn't a head cold, it's a chest cold, and then a fucking sore throat.

Anywho....

I now have 2 groups of plants. 4 plants in each group.
The first group I posted about and are about 8-10in.
I planted them March 28.

The second group were from seeds I germinated out of paranoia that the first group would be all males. These guys are only 2-4in. tall.

I've been using a soil mixture of Schultz potting soil, vermiculite and perlite:

I started the first group on nutes about 2 weeks ago and they seem to be really liking it.
I've been using Vigoro all-purpose plant food (10-10-10) with every other watering. I water them every two or three days. Depends on whether or not it rains.

This is my fav (it's the biggest):

My PH is about 6.4-6.5.

All seems to be well, except for the second group (the smaller plants), one of the plant's lower leaves are sarting to turn a little yellow and shrivle up. WTF?!

I do have a few questions.....

Should I start topping the first group?

When do you think I should transplant the first group into these larger pots? (I really don't know how big they are....I'm guessing two gallons)

And finally.....do any veteran growers out there have any tips or tricks to help them become larger (I want them as big as possible....nobody lives out here so I want to take advantage of that), or to help them become more potent/yield more?

Another thing.....I want to try and clone all my females. I only have eight plants....and I haven't even sexed them yet. So....I'm thinking I want some more females.

ANY advice/criticism(however you spell that) would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanx

umm I think you are supposed to wait to top until a little bit before flowering starts. Unless you need to keep them low for security.

You wanna top when there are at least 5 or 6 nodes. Or you can just go by time: at least 4 weeks into veg and at least 2 weeks before starting to flower (so it has time to recover).

I transplanted the 4 bigger ones, topped them, and finally.....watered them with some fert.

I'll post pics later.

I'm fucking exhausted.......peace.
