Yes males and females. I totally understand the gorilla grow theory. But this is a strain I came across nearly 15 years ago along a separate but not to far away river. The smoke was horrible lol. All seeds. No potency or even flavor to speak of lol. I'm expecting a completely different experience once I grow it out with care to its potentialHow was the landrace smoke?
Did you find boys and girls in the same patch?
Opinion-
I think it is likely you found some remnants of a gorrila grow and what has survived could be a "new landrace" if there is such a thing. But imo seeds from outside us, maybe crossed with native species, maybe just crossed amongst themselves, creating a new landrace.
All speculation but I would not be supprised if it is killer smoke.
I should also mention that although I was introduced to it some 15yrs ago. It was by someone who showed me it and they themselves had previously know of it for many years before that. It was labeled as hemp by many and therefore overlooked. But its definitely not hempHow was the landrace smoke?

I hate to ramble on with back story of it lol. But the original spot I was first shown was eventually eradicated by local authorities. I thought it was lost for good. It wasn't until earlier this year a friend of mine who works in the oilfield on a pipeline came across it and gave me the location which led me to that creek where I rediscovered itHow was the landrace smoke?

Thank you. I appreciate the sub and your interestSubbed up, this should be fun.
Yes it is. It's just so mysterious and I dont like never being able to truly trace the origin. I'm leaning towards it being from a migrant hippie settlement from the 70's or a actual native American cultivar. Both are cool thoughts to ponder overThe backstory of the hunt can be as fun as the hunt.
Sweet! Thank youI'm coming along for the ride!
I should also mention that guessing it could have been a abandoned gorilla grow is perfectly logical thinking if you wasn't aware of the landscape. Although the eastern side of the state harbors many gorilla farmers. This is the western side and one would have to be absolutely out of there mind to even attempt to grow modern cannabis is such a environmentHow was the landrace smoke?

Did some work on natural gas/oil facilities SE CO, KS, TX, vaugley remember one somewhere in OK, more central I think. Anything that survives in that kind of country has to be well fitted to the harsh environment, even if it was part of a "recently" (within last 50 years) tended plot. Ive smoked ditchweed better than what you get in some dispensaries.I should also mention that guessing it could have been a abandoned gorilla grow is perfectly logical thinking if you wasn't aware of the landscape. Sweet! Thank you
Thank you. I agree it will be interesting for sure. If it doesn't work out I will still have mostly my tried and trusty GDP in the tent. If anything I may just cross the two just to see what comes of itWelcome! I think this shall be very interesting to say the least. I can not wait to see what happens when you bring them to full potential. I hope everything works to your favor as I'm excited along with you.
I will try to get pictures. I was trying to be as discreet as possible so I got in and grabbed a bud for seeds and out asap. I didn't stick around and do anything extra. Plants ranged from 4ft to a little over 6ft. Classic Christmas tree shape and yes very slender leaves. Smell was fruity/piney. I say its likely a original strain dating back to native times or a old hippie strain because gorilla growing is just not a option in this part of the state. I would not have brought it into my stable if I wasn't certain it was one of the two.Did you happen to take any pics of it while out and about near the river. Where they big slender plants like super skinny sativa leaves. I think Guerilla grow as well. And it makes sense to be a near a river. Alot of grows like that are planned and plotted near water sources as not to have to carry water. Not that it's not cool as hell. But I just dont see a midwest landrace here. Unless as someone stated being old and it surviving itself. But I would say more than likely its remnants from a previous grow. But maybe not. Subbed up. Wanna see what they look like. And why do you think it's not hemp? Just curious. Not doubting your story or anything. Itd be cool if it was a new landrace.
Very cool! I'm definitely doing phylos!!!Did some work on natural gas/oil facilities SE CO, KS, TX, vaugley remember one somewhere in OK, more central I think. Dont risk getting in trouble for some pics man. I mean if it's safe to do so. And you know for sure it's safe. And you got spare time pics would be awesome it. But not awesome enough for 5.0. Trouble. But I'm definitely interested in watching the beans you popped of it. I have a little pollen chucking thread going. In the seed n strain review section. Called Chuck U!¡! If ya get chance stop by.Thank you everyone for your subs and curiosity about this wild cannabis. I would have been documenting this whole thing better if I knew such interest would be sparked. I will try to get back out there and get some pictures if possible. I'm glad you all are along for the ride![]()
