Hey guys, I already introduced myself to the forum in the Introduce yourself forum and Im into my third week of my first attempt to grow my own stuff. I didnt really want to spend a whole lot of money so I went for a homemade setup in the laundry room in my apt. My setup goes as described (I will try to post pictures up).
Three plants (bagseed): lets call them La Niña, La Pinta and the Santa Maria, just for shits and giggles as Im just staring my exploration. They are staring to get their 2nd set of true leaves.
* I have a space of 22 wide about 18 deep, and hanging lights so I can move them up as needed.
* 4 CFL lights: 2 X 24W Warm White, and 2 X 23W Cool White running at 18/6
* Digital Thermometer, temps ranges 70-85 F.
* I have a table fan blowing in through a vent and escapes from the bottom as the plants are placed on a wooden mini pallet getting slight motion on the leaves of all 3 plants.
* I am using the yeast and sugar water method for production of CO2 but dont really know how to control it. I live in Madrid so I think CO2 might not really be an issue since there is plenty here.
* For my soil Im using a weird brand soil but made sure that its pH would be between 6.0 and 6.5 (havent done much with the pH after that).
* For nutes Im using a Guano organic fertilizer with 4-5-6 NPK at about 30%
Now ill tell you why Im freaking out a little bit. The first set of true leaves are curling up a little bit. After reading about it, there were many factors that could make this happen: Closeness to the light or heat (they were about 1- 1.5, now they are at about 2-3), deficiency of Phosphorous, or over watering. I usually wait until the top of the soil is dry and the first few inches of dirt to dry in order to water.
I know there are tons of growing experts and you have answered thouthans of question repetedly in this forum; however, I thought I would share details about my growing setup in order to get better feedback since we all in this forum seem to have different circumstances. Ive done all the modifications today (raised the lights, added the nutrients) and Im hoping that the problem is already fixed and the leaves to turn back to awesome!!!!
I will post the pics below and please please tell me what I can do better and how to improve as I want my first growing experience to go as smooth as possible.
Thanks in advanced ..InD
