I'm going nuts

Flipped the plant 9 weeks and 5 days ago. If we take 1 or 2 weeks off for the flip then I'm at week 8 or 9. I'm planning on harvest next Monday.

Amazing plant, great buds, amazing terps, all good. In less than a week ago (I think 3-4 days), I open the tent and there's no more smell. I noticed that the bud that is closest to the tent zip door is dried. It's the only one. And it smells like hay. I think I've ruined 4 months of work in the last week and I don't even know why.

Same temp, same humidity. 2 things I can think of were different. One, I flushed. Yes I know it's all broscience and so on. I saw the latest study, it said it makes no difference. If it makes no difference I might as well just do it. I don't think it's because of that.

Second, I let the soil dry. I think this is the culprit, as I'm under the impression it happened after this. It hadn't been this dry the whole flowering period. Not like anything was drooping etc. But yeah the soil went dry for a bit, like light pot. Can a big soil dry at the end of flowering destroy the terps, dry the buds, give hay smell etc?

What do you think I did wrong ...

First image is a normal bud. Second one is the dried smelling like hay one. Same plant. that's the bud next to it.

That looks like a borer. Check the stock for a small hole. It you cut the budd look for the stem to be hollow.

I can't see anything wrong in the photo. I also know plenty of people who let their media dry out before harvest, for a faster dry, with no negative effects. Possible the branch is dead, somehow. But, if there is no visible damage I wouldn't be sure. I'm also not personally aware of any indoor pest that bores as suggested above. Also doesn't look like mold, right? Maybe since its the flower closest to the tent's door, it has got all the stank ruffled off of it. Lol

I checked for borers and there was none and also no rot. I just hang the whole damn thing upside down with the whole foliage and stuff. Temp is 67 and I put that bird controller on 62 RH. Temp goes to 62-65F during the day, that's best I can do. I hope I can get some good bud out of these drying conditions.

60F would be better but ain't nobody rich here to run AC in winter

if not, then look into cold cureing, works wonders for those of us who live in colder climates and cant afford the electricity to run all these gadgets

how did you check for hollow stems, boreres and rot if your just hanging the whole plant up to dry

After cutting the plant I checked the one messed up bud for rot and there was nothing. Also I checked the main stock there was no hole. I will inspect that specific stem after I'm done drying. I really doubt borers though, my environment is totally sterile, and up this high in an apartment that borer would have to come here from krypton to infiltrate that deep

I'm going to donate that bud to science, I don't even want it anymore. After I'm done drying I will dissect that thing and see whats up

i've had odd stems do that on me from time to time, ive just had a small lower branch do it on my afghani auto (in growth,no flowers yet). no explination as to why, i cant figure it out, not that its that important to me.
but on a flowering branch, thats differant, needs an explination , to my mind, there can be but a few reasons , are you sure that theres no hint of colour change at the point which it has died off. theres usualy a sign at the point at which it has sacum to something.
can you photo the branch itself . a picture paints a thousand words.
