when you do the bag technique to induce early preflowers (when you cover a branch for 12/12) where does the preflower show up? at the base of only that branch?
 
also have u ever grown BC mango or Island Sweet Skunk? Do u have any tips for these strains? Do they benefit from fimming/supercropping/topping?

Pre-flowers will pop out of the stipules, those little green spikes at the base of each node.

I haven't grown either of those strains before but the benefit of training is to you, not so much your plants. By that I mean train to suit your needs, whether it be to maximize light coverage, or just keeping everything stealthy. In my experience the strains I've grown have reacted very similarily to any training I do. Of course the speed that the plants are growing can greatly influence their recovery time, and effect your decisions.

I'm having some problem with the nutes. I think it's getting worse. Please take a look at the latest photos I uploaded earlier today at my journal (link at the signature) and tell me what you think. It's my first plant and I'm getting worried.
I've also opened a new thread in the Plant Problems section (https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/65958-please-heeelp-nute-problem.html) since I got no replies to the post at my journal.

I could really use your help and experience. Because, even if it gets better, honestly I have no idea what to do next. I mean after that I'm afraid of feeding it again.

idk where this post has gone since the first page but i have some good questions i think....hermies- can happen at any point? will just happen on 1 branch? one side of the plant? and also im wondering by doing the technique where you prune off the bottom branches reducing it to just what grows on the main cola would you make the plant unable to herm. also do plants usually turn to hermies. ive grown a few times and never had this problem before

Hermies happen due to a combination of stress and weakened genes. Certain strains just don't due well in certain conditions, and females rely on alot of things. Female plants require more criteria to be met to grow, and any one of which not met may trigger a panic hermie response. Hermies happen when a female plant isn't getting what it needs, it's basically trying to finish it's life cycle however it can...it's easier for them to grow male flowers than it is to grow female flowers.

Yes a plant can hermie anytime once flowered, sometimes the damage in minimal if it's later on in the cycle. Hermies that form early on will usually grow alot more male flowers, and much, much sparser female flowers...they aren't worth keeping in this case in my opinion.

No, 'lollypopping' your plant cannot guarentee it will not hermie.

What you can do is provide the best growing conditions possible and couple it with stable genetics. Stay away from feminized seeds, they have been tampered with and do not have stable genes IMO
 
thanks alot for the info. ....would you say that lollypopping the plants will be enough stress to make them hermie....havent done this before but it looks to me like it helps and i dont get anything worth keeping those bottom branches anyway...strains are dp blueberry and white skunk from white label

If you're worried about stressing them why not try some LST (Low Stress Training) That can keep all your budsites relatively even, and can significantly improve yield.

once again lol with no question, I am using Jiffy pucks and when they are ready I'm gonna be planting them into MG soil, Never had problums with it now and what's not broke don't fix or change it

I've been growing since Jan and I have only used MG and haven't had problums with that kind of soil, and I have 2 journals, 1 I'm gonna enter into the Journal contest and the other one I'm keeping it up to date as much as I can because I have the same 5 girls since Jan when i started

I already put this in your journal but I thought it might be nice for someone else to read to...you asked how to get more lumens for your growroom (in the journal)

Lumens is, or at least should be an irrelevent term for growers. Lumens only account for what our eyes can see, nothing else. So taking that into consideration, grow lights won't neccessarily have the same amount of usable light as they will lumens.
