Im starting to grow and I have a 36 square foot room.

Like i said i have a 36 sq ft room im planning on getting a 1000 watt mh hps system so i can change the bulbs when i want to start budding. Ive done my research on venting and all that. Will 1000 watts for a 36 sq ft room do the trick? As a new grower what should I look out for as a far as newbie issues with my first grow. I will monitor ph and bugs I feel like im ready to go. Lighting seems to be the most important thing as afar as yeild goes so should I get more light?

negitive, 36 is small. mine is 48 sq. ft. your environment. more important. STABLE temps, lots fresh air. mabee a mover, water, ph, nuits... humidity. all in sinc, maintained precisely. a plant can only utilize so much light. don't need the burner on quite so high.... just the stuff i had too overcome b4 nice results.

I would think you could get away with a 600W man, 1000W just gets so hot and pretty big light for smaller area, prob overkill.

User, if you spend some time reading around here you will see that the biggest problem new growers have is temps. It's really east to under estimate the effects of HID lighting in a small space. A HID lamp is going to put out 3.4 BTU per watt X 1,000 watts = 3,400 BTU. That is enough to heat a 12x14 room in a moderate climate state, Virginia. Light is really good but, lots of light inside of an oven won't matter. You don't give a great deal of detail so I can't say very much but, I hope that you have a plan. I wouldn't put anything in there until you have done a dry run and see that you can hold the temps under 85 with the lamp on for 18 hours. Good luck with your effort!

what would be the max number of plants i could fit in this 36 sqft space? Is it overkill for 6 plants? I will be venting very well plant to run an AC unit and vent out all the air. How many plants would a 600 watt cover?
