Im starting to realize that....

The guys at grow and hydro shops are morons..
As i learn more and more about growing cannabis i am in shock at the bull shit that comes out of these guys mouths...

Some do some don't. You have to shop around at different hydro stores to find the ones with the Most educated staff. And it sure doesn't hurt to be informed yourself or else you'll believe anything you're told.

Just because they work there doesn't mean they know anything about growing. I personally know the owner of my local hydro shop, and although he's a nice guy, I learned a long time ago that he doesn't know how to grow in coco or hempy buckets. Like all businesses, they push the products that make them the most money.

Amazing whwt they come up with just to sell u a product.. they will pouposly tell u to buy one thing so its fucks your plants up so u have to buy another thing to fix it

One of the shops I go to the owner used to always try and talk me out of buying expensive shit and never tried to sell me extras. Another shop I used to go to when I was starting out tried to tell me my issue with my Galaxy ballast wasn't actually an issue with my ballast but that my timer was a cheap made in China timer. I looked at him and shook my head as he was trying to sell me a Titan timer that was twice as much as the one I bought at Target and I said, "Look around you once. All the shit you guys sell is made in China." He just pulled a stupid face and stood there hahaha

Hahaha thats a classic...

I have a grow shop close to me, with the most aggressive salesman ever. He will talk to you as long as possible, offering to sell you everything in the store, so you can grow like he does. Then he shows you some accolade he won for his plants.

The worst part is I catch at least a few things he says that are just completely wrong. But he falls into a specific “group” in my city which produce tons of garbage weed and floods the market with crap. They are also creating fire hazards in basements, getting busted daily, and producing delicious Pho.

I had no idea what Jacks 321 is. Try finding that product in the Peters line. Asked this huge grow shop owned by smokers. The expert shows me the Peters products which I had already seen. In short he had no clue.

Got on here and found out exactly what it was and went back. All they had the first visit was Part A and even that was out of stock now. I go to check out and the expert is checking this guy out a literal pickup load of shit. I mean everything from medium to containers to light.

So I go to the other register and the owner is there. I ask if he knows what Jacks 321 is. No. I tell him. “Darn. That guy that just left? He sells us the Peters products.”

These are the experts.

They are nothing more than the link between consumers and distributors and that's where it ends. Kinda like how lawyers are just glorified paper shufflers.

Another strange thing at my local grow shop is i live in Massachusetts we have a 12 plant limit..im well over that limit lol i never tell my plant count to anyone (accept here) he makes it point and all the other employees to find out my plant count..they could be cops lol conspiracy? I dont kno but even my girl said something about it...they dont even kno what im growing i like it that way...but why are they so pushy about my count and what im growing? Anyone eles run into this?

If you are not in a legal state yet I’ll tell you this much right now. I’ve lived in CO, WA and now AK.

There’s pot growers. There’s money people. These are never found in one person. Never. The growers know pot. The money people know money. Wages in the industry suck. My daughter has been in the legal business here for 2 years and has resumed nursing school pronouncing the business a fuck for the workers. $11 to start in AK. Nobody gets a raise but hey - they’re in a cool business.

When the regulatory agencies there start to focus more on diversion and black market they’ll watch those places occasionally. Promise you. Check what happened in Colorado this year.

Im in it for the $ i dont smoke week hell i dont even drink booze...im getting 1600$ per lb right now wen i lived in cali at one point it was down to $550!!! I knotice after all the busts in perris CA (were i use to live) the price out here in Massachusetts spiked..has anyone eles knoticed this?

You live in MA? A legal state? You’re growing for sale? You better not let anyone know. The legal people drop dimes regularly. They didn’t invest it all just to watch some black marketeer sell better bud without being subject to regulation and oversight by the state. Money people are chickenshit.

I deal with 1 guy who buys all my shit at one wack...no one eles..no idea what he does with it..but he has money just sitting waiting..thats why im so hush at the hydro shop..and i really dont like them asking so many dam questions...and giving me false info..im new to growing really new and the best is wen they tell me im wrong just to buy a product that will "fix" all my issues lol fuck em

I went to a motorbike store a few month back to buy some gear, I had done some on-line research prior to get an idea what makes a good value for money helmet, etc. Got to the shop, asked a few questions and the guy gave me answers that were essentially bro science as we would call it. I was polite none the less, and asked what gear he personally uses. He replied ''I don't ride motorcycles''. I was a bit stumbled in shock by it, just stared at him in bemusement for a second or two, got a bit awkward then ;p.

You can see it in almost any shop now, the customer often knows more than the employee because they actually have no interest in the job they are doing. Aka the tail end of capitalism.

so true. and the other side of this coin is how "informed" the average customer is thanks to the internet.

I learned early.. if i kno nothing about something or dont kno the correct answer i dont give the wrong information...thats why there is so much horrible info and junk going around on growing cannabis...yes everyone is different what works for one might not work for another...i think thats why i love doing this your grow and style is unique and u have your own style and it adds a little twang to each individual...that make sense? Lol

No, but it would make me nervous. Even though I live in a legal state, I still just grow tomatoes and peppers as far as the Hydro shop knows - of course I pay in cash also so I'm sure they would wonder if they gave a f*ck.
