Thanks everyone for the responses! I forgot the most important thing is an accurate set of meters.

My ph meter was .8 off while my ppm meter was under 250ppm

Sooo that epic combo of ph imbalance and underfeeding was what was happening.

I tested my runoff at 6.1 tonight so I’m feeling a little better

The veg area is loving it too!

Here’s the last post I’ll make on this thread, babies are looking rock solid, the interveinal chlorosis is gone, the olive coloring I mentioned is now a healthy green.

For those of you who said plants change colors, yes they do...when they are deficient and or using other nutrients...lol

Use drops man. Scrap those meters. They fucked me last grow. GH drops, if it turns yellow I am good. If it’s a tad on the green side add a small amount of ph down, retest, always works perfect. No more guessing

Rather than switching to pH drops, continue to use your meters however make sure you've purchased the calibration items. They can be purchased on eBay for a few dollars and can make a difference if your meter starts to drift over time!

I don’t have the patience to be constantly calibrating those stupid ph pens, storing them properly in solution bla bla bla. I know yellow color with drops is 5.8-6.0. Hint of green is 6.3-6.5.

I'm always checking and rechecking different res maybe that's why. If I had to test with drops on each one it would take for ever. And then top off the DWC or add nutes and recheck again, no way! Don't get me wrong, I don't calibrate every week or anything. I calibrated once when they arrived and keep putting it off to re-calibrate, but I'm sure every 4-6 weeks is fine. I don't keep my pens in solution, but they stay moist with the caps on. Now I do follow the one thread on here that states you should sanitize your pens between each res to prevent potential for cross contamination. So between each res I keep two coffee cops out at all times; one with an alcohol solution and one with de-chlorinated water. Each pen gets a quick dip in the alcohol solution first and then the water rinse -- real easy. Cheap too.

well for hydro I can see its easier with the pen definitely. I am in coco so I only test when I am about feed.
