I agree with you on this one, I do use a microscope to check the trichomes but I can usually tell by looking at them. They look swollen, start to change color and in general look ripe to pick. It's almost like watching the leaves fall off the trees in the fall. I agree that they should reek, but in my experience lower quality plants may not smell very much and in fact even high quality seeds have duds in them. So where did you get your seeds/clones? They should smell by week 8, lol i can smell mine 3 blocks away on occasion.Ive never really been one to go with the whole cloudy/clear trichs as a 100% i use it with other factors. These plants just dont look near done to my eye I think theyre gonna swell alot in the next few weeks. Especially with a diesel strain it should be reeking when its close.
That plant needed at least a few more weeks to reach it's full potential. Here is the last pics of the Red Diesel on my last grow in June. This was at 11 weeks and I chopped her just a few days later. Nice vape, good taste and high. Huge fat colas on her, never do any topping or training; just like to see how they grow naturally.

I can see why you might think that; stigmas not completely turned. However if you look at the leaves she was dying, and not because I was flushing, I feed right up to chop. I used to be the grower that would take them as far as they would go. Now I do not like the leaves to get all dead and dried up, makes it a pain to trim and generally looks like crap. All my plants are kickass strong, top shelf dispensary strong (and you can't swing a dead cat around here and not hit a green cross). My friends and family tell me this, it is just not a personal opinion. Thanks for the input and I mean that sincerely. That plant needed at least a few more weeks to reach it's full potential.
