So this is a 2x 200w cob led. seemed cool. No reviews. So i got that and some others to try. I put this one in a 3x3 DR90. Thats the ONLY lIMAG0138.jpg IMAG0139.jpg ight i will use from seed to harvest.

I'm only going to flower one, but have not decided the strain. I have in veg , Blueberry, strawberry cough, and Golden Berry.

Or seed form skywalker, lemon og, pink kush, strawberry og, grandaddy confidential, tahoe og, 707 headband. Hmm.

Ok so I was too excited and took the COB and Blueberry.

I put it in a DS60, got it at 22c and 35-40rh. (will try to drop)

I defoliated it like it owed me money. This I know is complete tardness for some, others swear by it. Anyway. These are two photos. One taken 12 hours ago 12 hours right after defoliation. The second pic was taken 24h after. So 12 hours light later. Essentially this is less then 24hrs between these photos.

I will take one 12 hrs from now.

I am quite happy with this light so far. I also now know blueberry doesnt like HST. I will leave her do her thing from now on, just some bending and.. "persuasion"

I know i screwed up so bad. O read an article and thought I was some amazing new grower going to yield 50% more. I wont do that again. I almost feel like putting in back in veg. Its been only one night. Watcha think? Its blueberry and it was a strong pheno.

I dont really care about yield thoughj. Its more to see if this 140 buck COB can yield me something.

If its like a 400w hid. Then I want what i get with a 400 hps, 250gr dry. If less Ill stop dicking with leds and try lec. (I realise under these circumstances my yield will be SIG. less)

Ok actually I'm going to throw this in a 200 cfl area 24/7 for 2-3 weeks before I flip. HockeyBeard made me think of too many reasons why shes not in a good state to flip. I owe it to this strain to do it properly.

So Ill get back to you guys after some vegging! Sorry!

I wouldn't base my opinion of LEDs, especially COBs, on these cheap blurple knock-offs. These MAY be better than a mars, but they won't compare to a proper cree cxb or bridgelux vero cob light, BAsing your opinion of COBs based off of these would be like someone trying the cheapest HID system china could pump out and then going around telling everyone HID sucks because they tried it and it didn't produce like people say it should.

No.

Im basing it off the fact those tech words your using mean nothing at this point.

And they charge about 1 thousand USD extra. And you pay that. :wall:

This is again more to the point what I am doing.

So my 400w COB, compared to a 1k USD cob will prove people waste your money because you like big fancy words and impulse buys on technology not yet proven. Please show me a picture of a bud grown with a usa assembled 400W cob worth 1k more then a 400 china cob please.

I have one of those. I don't use it.
You say it like its crap. So bs.

Please show me it lying in the corner doing nothing. And the LED you use now to replace it. Or I believe zero. And the tag on the led showing wattage and the Actual Chips. Thanks!

Edit - You have any worth to your word it looks like this bud.

I have a 200 watt model and it will grow weed but I swapped my blurple lights out for cob. My light has three or four of the diodes burnt out and it is less than a year old.
200w model of mars 2? I assume it would grow.Yes

But I'm referring to the 400w Chinese COB that's pretty new. And seems to have copied all the right specs needed to compete with the 400w COB league of the USA built.

But Randy has one. But he doesn't use it. :dunce:

I didn't say my light is a Mars 2. It's the same version you have just 1 cob not 2. I will take a picture of it and it's burnt out lights when I get home this evening.

Ok so you're trying to say its no different than the more expensive lights using cree or bridgelux cobs but you ignore the fact that your cob is clearly blurple tinted while the "high priced US" stuff is pure white light.
Yes it will grow weed, yes the weed will get you high, but you can't compare something if you aren't even using the same kelvin temperature and certainly can't compare something that isn't even close to the same spectrum.

The high cost US built cob leds cost a lot upfront, but its for those that thing long term. Heck even one harvest or startup you avoid at least most of the AC cost to cool an hid. Then you start adding the fact that the COBs produce light more efficiently than an HID so you will be using less power to get the same results and still saving on cooling and additional fans.

The biggest problem I have is that everyone that tries these comparisons goes in looking for the COBs to produce more end product with less power and thats not the point. They will produce roughly the same amount using less power, but all the hid people refuse to look at it that way. They also ignore changing bulbs, reflectors every year, ac and additional fans needed to cool hid when they factor cost. Yes you can get your hid sustem cheaper up front, but in 5 years you will have spent more in power, bulbs and reflectors while the cobs haven't had to change anything while running cooler and more efficiently.

I lied there is only two of the diodes burnt out. I checked my account history and I ordered this light on April 10th last year. image.jpegimage.jpeg
