Im thinking about joing the Military

i say Fuck that shit. I'd rather be putting someone's roof on for $20/hr for the rest of my working career, than being told what to do, when to do, & where to do.
The service is bunch of shit. I'd probably be dishonorably discharged within the first 10 minutes by punching the drill sergeant in the face. Nobody ever talks that way to my face without being hit.

i met this dude last year. mid 20's. just got back from killing people in Iraq. he was struggling to keep a $12 an hour job. go figure.

Hey puff...This thread is funny. So many miss-perception comments out there. Its all what you make of it regardless of which service you go into. Yes, it kinda sucks for the first go around but as you gain experience and rank it becomes much more bearable.

My recruiter told me lies too ha ha ha... but I was NEVER on a Navy Vessel that didnt have fishing poles Some of the best fishing I have ever done was on a Navy Patrol Boat! We even fished off the fan tail of the larger ships when we wernt underway.

The comments about punching a Drill Sergeant in the mouth are garbage also...thats just street talk.....been there, done that! I used to pick out the biggest, cockiest punk recruits I could find and break them down first. The loudmouth tough guys are the easiest to make cry and the real tough guys are the best recruits you end up having because they are more mature and have moral direction.

If you are seriously thinking about it then you need to really make some honest mature commitments to yourself and any loved ones. It can absolutly be the best thing in the world if you choose that route. It can also be total HELL if you choose that path. You will definately need to put weed aside the entire time.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and its enjoyable to read this stuff, but alot of it is "hear say". No personal attacks on anyone as FDD has written.

I took the practice ASVAB test what on wed? and the Marines sent out a huge brochure overnight about joining the marines. Honestly it tells you nothing about the hard times, but infers that you need to be a strong/strong minded person to join. And honestly the benefits are good if you decide to stay in for 10-20+ years

Im not 18 so i have more of an opinion of the Military and the marines probably isnt for me. All work and no play is their modo. But i do like the pride factor, but again not worth it. I can be all i can be in my own warm bed, fucking strange women on the reg.


Ive been doing lots of thinking and i think im going to put the military on the back burner again. Theres alot going on in my life, i have alot of friends...Its just hard to leave everything behind for a "what if" future.
