so far it's working. i fed him a chocolate doughnut last night. he keeps going into the cat house. i walked out the other night, the porch light pops on and his little head pops up out the top of the cat house. he's all "hello". i pet him and he ran.

my step-mom raised 3 babies..I guess the mother was hit by a car. They were cool as hell, they would sit on your shoulder, and eat out of your hand. When they got a little bigger, she let em go.

damn dude, i guess the possums in cali are a little friendlier. The one that comes around my back porch is an asshole, everytime i use the grill he shows up later that evening and shows his teeth and kinda hisses like a cat. I say go for it, i trained a wild cat and now she hangs out with me outside and walks with me down the road....i guess all it really takes is free food.

its always good to have unexpected visitors, makes me feel more like im in the past when we actually lived outdoors and coexisted with them rather than taking over their natural habitats. I have a possum, cat, rabbit, and fox that all randomly hang out in the yard along with the lizards that catch some rays on the porch railing.

i agree, the right food is the key. :weed:

it's hella cute. there is a mother and a baby. mama is retty big, the baby is smaller than my cats. he ended up under the couch one night when he was even smaller. got in under the kitchen door. i walked in my backdoor and the little guy is just sitting there. i think he was eating the cat food. he ran under the couch and we couldn't find him. took him an hour and he ran out. i now wonder how often he comes back in.
those things are nasty :spew:
they are actually really soft and clean. i thought it would be all greasy and stink. nope. i pet it. it's soft like a cat. it just has a very thin outer coat of coarse hair, but even this hair is soft. they have little hands.

i sitting here waiting for it. i can here it walked across the porch awning. i run out there and catch it just as it's coming down the ramp. it freezes. they are really funny. "if i don't move, he won't see me". it'll poke his head into a hole in the cat house, leave it's whole body outside the hole, then freezes. like an ostrcih with it's head in the sand. it's hella cute.

Haha I would never pet one of those things. We used to shoot them back at home. They always tried to fuck with the dogs and id rather not have a rabid pet or some other weird disease.

my grandpa catches them pretty often... he traps coons cause they're just f'n aggravating:twisted:... he uses cat food for bait, cause coons seem to love the stuff...

got an albino possum once... he caught it early in the morning, the day i got out of jail... told him that he was good luck, not to kill him, but he did anyway:cry:

just be careful fdd... possums can carry rabies; so if they start foamin you better cap em;-)
