In recent weeks, Congress has moved on a number of fronts to curtail the president’s authority. Lawmakers passed legislation limiting his
ability to lift sanctions on Russia and pool the Republican-controlled Senate will not formally adjourn this month to prevent Trump from making any recess appointments, a tactic usually employed when the president is from the opposite party. Amid increasing concerns about Trump’s attitude toward the federal investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, a bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation this week aimed at preventing special counsel Robert S. Mueller III from being fired.
Window dressing. None of this negatively effects trump. Most of it isn't even legislation. It's process. Or have they passed the bills to prevent firing mueller?
Even if they do, they still have to over ride a veto. It's congressional theatre.
You deniers call it cynicism. I call it historical perspective. Since gingrich began his roll, the republicans have pretty single mindedly been driven by their hatred, rather than an interest in improving anything. They put on a show. Bills get introduced but don't result in passed legislation.
It's happened so many times your head spins. It's still happening.
They won't move against this president in any meaningful way. They will make it look like they are independent of him. Happened with bush too. not unusual.
What is unusual is dems not seeing it. You guys are living in a fools paradise, but in the end, trump will finish out his term (or two). His enablers will see to it.
