Ok, so I just got my room set up, and within 30 seconds that hi-pitched whistle from my in-line exhaust was driving me insane. So I played around with it, put pressure on it, nothing worked. So I took a piece of cardboard and used it to cover up the intake side of the fan by about 33%.As you slide the cardboard around over the intake you can tune it to the exact noise/whistle level you want .It cut the whistle down to nothing and I am very happy with the noise level. Luckily I bought more fan than I really needed( 250 cfm ) so giving up the 1/3 intake is no problem.
So if you want to tame that beast, try this out!If you have any other methods that work post them.
