In need of help/advice on young seedlings

I germinated 9 seeds and 4 sprouted within 2 days and and 5 sprouted in 3. I started them off in a propagation kit for about a week, just feeding them tap water every other day. Well I lost the late sprouters due to transplant shock which I have learned a great deal from a little too late. Well I transplanted them after about a week into a diy aeroponic system. Now I'm facing some trouble. At first I used just tap water for about 2 days and then i added trace amounts of nutrients. I saw that wasnt working and got a pH kit and saw that my pH levels were around 7-8.

So today i flushed the water with tap water, letting chlorine evaporate last night and i also used some fish tablets to get rid of chlorine. ppm after that was about 400 and pH was at 7.8. I added some vinegar and got the pH down to 5, which I'm scared is too low. I also added trace amounts of nutrients, ppm is at 600-630. Also I have a fan just for circulation, I usually leave my closet door open when I am home. I am using the pH drops for testing but I just ordered a pH pen. Also my thermometer/humidity meter are at a friends place. current cycle is 24/0.

but here are pics, what else can I do to get my plants green again . any advice on what i am missing?

changin ph too quickly too drastically can fuck them babies up quick

You want a ph of about 5.2 - 5.8 for hydro grows.... though it depends on the strain

ahhh that was what i was thinking, but should i have slowly lowered it down to 5.2 or just correct it immediately? should i change my water again and have my pH around 5.8?

well i couldnt sleep knowing my ph was too low so i raised it (after lowering too much) to about 5.8-6, hopefully this solves my problems. but if anyone has any expert advice/opinions, then im all ears.

any help is greatly appreciated.

nobody,

The preferred pH levels for hydro are 5.8 - 6.2 with 5.8 being considered ideal. I would not go with 5.2 as it is too acidic, pH of 5.5 is used to soak rockwool prior to planting. I had exact same problems as you when I was using my bubbleponics plant killer, check my journal. I ended up going with nothing but RW and it's working great. Check out journals of nongreenthumb, drizzle and me. My tap water is very clean, so that's ok to use, about .13EC, the pH is very alkaline 9.4, so I always add a good amount of aquarium ph down to get it down to 5.5.

i have some questions;

what are trace amounts of nutes? what nutes? formulated for hydro?
i am assuming you're using tap water... city or well, what ppm from the tap? what ph (roughly)?

do you have superthrive?
do you have cal/mag?
do you access to a hydro shop?

pm me when you get back to this thread ;)

love, kp

i used a small spoon of super natural gro aqua. (roughly a teaspoon, didnt have time to buy an actual measuring spoon), the recommended is 1.5 teaspoons per 4 liters
i am using tap water im assuming from a well, the water is real hard, high ppm(around 650-700) and high pH (8).
i let the water sit for a day and ppms went down to about 550-600.

no i dont have any other nutrients besides ph down and gro aqua. the only thing closest to a hydro shop around me is petsmart, can i get cal/mag there?
should i also pick up superthrive?

hm, with hard water, you shouldn't get a cal problem...

at petsmart you can get the liquid forms of ph up and down. i think your nutes are for aquatic plants, but i don't think it's for cannabis. you need to invest in a quality nute formula, like gh three part (with hard water micro for you...). it's not too expensive, about 30-40 dollars will get you through a grow... gh buffers to right at 6.0, and takes the guess work out of ph.

cal mag is a must for me, and many of my friends. it may be a good idea to get some if you can. can you order online?

superthrive always helps, one drop per gallon.

what is the temperature of the water?

super natural was recommended to me by potroast so i dont think it could be bad nutes.
SUPERNATURAL FROM HORIZEN HYDROPONICS

my thermometers are at a friends place and i wont be able to get it til sunday. but i can tell you that the water gets warm to the touch, im guessing around 80 degrees. what temps should my water be and how can i lower it?

im going ahead and gonna order gh 3 parts, and botanicare supplement kit.
