Hey guys. I'm starting my third week of the flowering process on my master kush clone. Can someone give me a rough estimate on when i should start seeing actual buds instead of just "hairs".

Overall. how does the plant look? constructive criticism is welcomed thanks.

you have to have a light leak a big one or a 6 mo flowering time cover the box with a couple of sheets

i thnk it has to do with the lack of supplements. I dont really feed it much nutrients, so the only nuts it gets is from the fresh soil. I just bought some plant food now Schultz AV. Should i just follow the directions for feeding it, or is there a special process that i should know about?>

Well there's your first problem. It can't grow on soil only.. just like the human body can't live off just water and oxygen. You should've been feeding it nutes (high in nitrogen) roughly 2 weeks into vegetative growth and (budding nutrients) while flowering.

Hey man. Are you 3 weeks from flowering (seeing actual flowers) or 3 weeks from switching to 12/12. If you are at 3 weeks after seeing flowers, your plant looks a little behind and could use nutrients. Start small. If you switched to 12/12 three weeks ago, you could potentially be right on schedule as it takes time for your plant to produce the hormones to flower. Looks good otherwise.

Check out my grow you can see how my plant progressed from seedling to now at 38 days flowering and get a better idea of how plants look as they flower. Be sure to leave a comment!

BIG BUD almost 12/12 from seed cfl grow

As for seeing buds and not just flowers... The little thing your hairs are coming out of is a calyx. A bud is a great clump of em, mixed with a bit of leaf and stem, but mostly a great bunch of calyxes. When your plant starts to grow more of em, your gonna see your buds form. And just when you think their nice and big, towards the end of flowering, they are all gonna swell with resin and your plant will fill out and harden.

oh for sure. thanks for the term. So on every place that there are calyx, there are only 2 coming out. Even out of the mature ones, only 2. I think it has a lack of nutrients becuase i havent been feeding it. Is there still enough time to save it?

what is the light spectrum on your lights? 2700k or 6500k? and it's not too late to save them, your grow will just take longer

i dont think i have enough light. i only have about 6400 lumens. I'm going to get another set of lights and see how it goes. The plant looks stupid healthy though, I just dont think it has enough light to go into flowering process.

alright guys i just got another 3x 1500lumen bulbs so i should have about 10000 lumens now. way better than 6400 i was using.

here are pics of the 4th week of my "12/12" process. I dont think it's been flowering because it didnt have enough light and nutrients to make it flower. I just picked up some Miracle Gro Bloom Booster Flower Food. It has an NPK of 15/30/15

I also bought a 3gallon bucket to replace the current 2gallon bucket that it's currently in. I wanna swap in the 3gallon bucket because it looks like the 2gallon bucket is making the roots curl. The question is should i transfer the plant now that it's in it's flowering cycle? I also topped the plant today too.

Please let me know how the plant is doing. ill try to get up close shots.

Here it is as of week 4 before the extra lights/new food/ and pot.

What light spectrum are you using?
You should be using 2700k for flowering
Don't mix up your lumens with your color spectrum. They are two different things.

im currently using 4 14watt bulbs that are soft white and produce about 6400lumens. I just picked up 3 more "bright white" bulbs that will add about 4500 more lumens.

CFL's come in mainly two flavors, Soft White (color temperature 2700k) and Daylight (color temperature 6500k). For a complete grow, you should use both. Soft white mimics the spectrum of a HPS light, and is best suited for flowering. Daylight's color spectrum is like that of metal halide lights, and is excellent for the vegetative stage. (This applies to tubes too. Around 6500k for veg, around 2700k for flower.)
I don't know what "bright white is.It should be marked on the packaging.....
Also....lumens are reduced with the distance they are from your plant. So your plant should be close to the lights as possible without it burning the plant.
Your plant looks great, however you should have buds by now just be patient.

ooh. thank you for the informative post. I just checked the back of the label on the "Bright White" bulbs and they are 3500k bulbs.

Another question. I just bought a 3gallon bucket for my plant. How much shock will the plant endure as a result of the transplant? Should i feed it some nutrients after i transfer it, or should i just water it like normal.

Im not familiar with that miracle grow food that you are using, and I don't know what medium you are using,so I don't want to give you the wrong info.. I would skip the nutes for now and see if your plant gets shocked from the transplant. If she's ok, then go back to your regular feeding schedule.
